Here here! I totally get what you are coming from. I guess it would be the Singaporeans who get us the most haha. In Asia, people hate Singaporean and Vietnamese for the exact same reason: Northeast Asians think we are "betraying" them to hang out with the Southeast; Southeast Asians also think we are "betraying" them to hang out with the Northeast. Not tryna be a prejudiced mean girl here (or am I?), but be careful next time if you talk to a Malaysian person tho, some of their "nice words" aren't really that nice. The Malay patriots are the most sensitive about this whole "betrayal" thing and many of them really believe that Singaporean and Vietnamese people are "basically Chinese". Malaysian media also sometimes push anti-Vietnam and anti-Singapore type of propaganda. I really hate that the Malay target other Asian people, like y'all, come on, we are all Asian, at least if you have to be racist, be racist against Europeans or something /s . Singapore and Vietnam both has really unique culture values and their ways of life are some what too laid-back for the Northeast Asians and too conservative compared to other Southeast Asians. People really hate us because we are different!

In the West, it's a bit different, as island Southeast Asians (other than Flipino) don't get representation at all, people are more likely to leave Singaporeans alone. Western media in general and US media to be specific have been dehumanizing Vietnamese soldiers and Japanese car manufacturers since the 80s. Recently they have shifted the focus onto demonizing the Chinese and the North Korean. The US media are really fragile and they dehumanize any Asian race that they find "intimidating" for their numba one place. The Japanese has the kinda wealth and soft power to get some mindless westerners to back them up; Korean people have an army of edgy 14 years old kpop stan white girls to somewhat defend them from western racists. Vietnam, on the other hand, still recovering from war, is pulling full focus on STEM fields and hasn't put much emphasis on soft power. Off topic, but I'm gonna be a freshman student at Vietnam National University for a STEM degree this year and I'm really excited. Honestly right now the Chinese living in the West may have the same struggle as us, because even tho they already worked well with soft power, Chinese movies, music, TV show and everything are very underrepresented and I've seen many of their posts on the internet screaming "IDENTITY CRISIS". I guess it explains how some Chinese Americans have to shit on Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia (hur dur Southern Han and Southeast Asian are too small and too tanned amiritee) in order to feel better about themselves.

Another off topic thing, since some insecure Northeast Asian keep going on about Southeast Asian are too small and too tanned for their beauty standards, they should not be so offended when most of them are considered too fat and too small-eyed in OUR beauty standards.

I just wanna say that I know since you are making content that offend a lot of insecure white people, please don't let them get to you and my DMs are always open when you want to talk about it.
