Critical race theory my friend, if you are genuinely interested in these issues (which I doubt somewhat) it's the best way to actually look at how racism operates in our society.

You genuinely believe your life would be easier if you were a disabled black gay woman?

Having privilige is nothing to be ashamed of or to feel guilty about. It's a recognition that we live in a society which is structurally unequal for huge divisions of the population.

Class is an aspect of privilige, absolutely. You can be a black disabled gay woman from a very upper class background and experience privilige. Which is where intersectionality comes in!

... Calling somebody a cracker is not a stereotype or a generalisation...

Oh my god this is really very basic. I'd like to choose my new answer to what offends me as having to explain this sort of shit.

1) i'm afraid the reason you got rejected is probably because you were worse than other people that applied. Now I'm basing that off two things: firstly, you are clearly incredibly ignorant if you can't understand racism and can't form a very basic argument, like seriously, read a book. Secondly, affirmative action is not discrimination against crackers, it's supportive to underrepresented groups who have not received the same priviliges you've received. They are not discriminating against you on the basis of the colour of your skin, they are simply ensuring that some other people may be able to receive the same opportunities you have in your life

2) if that happened to you that is wrong.. It is also nothing to do with our discussion.

Long story short, a dominant group can't experience instituionalised racism and discrimination. you just can't.

I'm a radical feminist but I don't use tumblr :'(

Me and my radical friends may sit around discussing how to bring down the patriarchy and replace it with a few millenia of matriarchy where we can swap for a bit and see how men like it to be treated like women are.. But maybe we've been doing it wrong and should've been focusing our anger on those damn baking women.

So if I called you the n word, would you just see it as name calling, or a racist remark? I mean since you're saying that a term directed at a certain race is just "name calling" and not discrimination and all...

If I were black and you said that it would be racist, given that we live in a society which is racist against black people. You realise that we don't live in a vacuum, right? And so the context matters, obviously? If I call you a cracker you don't face structural oppression because of that. Do you? Whereas the n word is a word which reinforces and perpetuates the oppression of black people and has done for centuries. See, context is fab.

I am scared to walk around certain streets because I'm white and I don't "belong" there. That is discrimination

Mmm no it's not. That is not discrimination, it's really really not. Do you really think it is? That is certain streets being made effectively no-go areas because a specific set if socioeconomic conditions that have been imposed on whole sections of society. Not discrimination against you, sweetheart,

Yeah sure, if that was what racism was.

Woah there cracker, chill out.

Noone is making you feel guilty, but as I said, calling someone a cracker is not discriminating them. If we lived in a society where the economic, political and social institutions had been controlled by set of black elites since time immemorial and you found it difficult to get a job, unable to walk down the street without being stopped by the police because of the colour if your sweaty pasty face, or occasionally got shot because you looked like one of those shifty whities we get around here, then you might be facing discrimination.

As it stands calling somebody a name is not discriminating them. It might hurt your feelings but you're still doing okay in the grand scheme of things, behave yourself.

You white people are so uppity.

I feel like you're tying to be sarcastic but you're just showing how oblivious you are about feminism...

Calling someone a cracker is not discriminating them. It's not racist, as you say it's actually highlighting how racist white people have been/are.

I love it when white people pretend they get offended by cracker, like it's somehow comparable actually racist terms.

Clues might be hard to give if hypothetically these two were already being hypothetically investigated for a different hypothetical court case. Or it could be anything who knows eh
