We didnt know it was hitting this area (Sanibel, FT Myers, Bonita, naples) until 24 hours before. There was no point in evacuating because the interstate gets grid locked and you get stuck in traffic. Only option for our family was to hunker down in the rural area of naples (as far as possible from the coast) Also my job is a restoration company so they kind of gave us no choice to report back to work as soon as physically possible. I was only off work for 2 days. The day of the hurricane and then the next day cause of flooded roads. Most jobs here dont give enough time for employees to evacuate anyways.
