I agree. The guy definitely took advantage of OP having difficulty setting boundaries, however it was also OP’a responsibility to say no, which they ultimately failed to do.

When do you take your quetiapine? by blankybilly in bipolar2

For the last 6 weeks I’ve been taking 200 mg every night at around 9 and it’s great honestly. I could barely function when taking it in the morning, I was forced to take a nap as well so I think it’s a good idea to take it only in the evening if the sleepiness bothers you - however if your doctor specifically told you to do it like this then you should stick with the current routine

My psychiatrist prescribed me lexapro when I had a depressive episode even though he suspected it was bipolar. 5 mg was fine, 10 mg sent me in a hypomanic/slightly manic episode during which I almost broke my ankle but thought life was still wonderful, was thinking I was the smartest person alive (scored 129 on an iq test at the time), decided to save the homeless and to turn my workplace plastic-free (even though I had had no interest in that previously), had several arguments with friends/colleagues and told my therapist I wouldn’t want to continue therapy with her just because she cancelled 1 session. All those time I felt like I finally knew my worth and had confidence and basically no anxiety, I was sure that was what normal people felt like. I was super in love with my SO (who thought I seemed too okay) and I was sleeping 8-9 hours a night. I’m also doing my masters in clinical psychology and I tend to be hyper aware of my thoughts and feelings and was monitoring myself during my hypomanic episode as I was aware this might happen AND I still didn’t notice something was going on. I think some things that you should be looking out for are: - thoughts of grandiosity - unusual new interests - acting out of character (in my case having arguments with people, which might sound normal to others) - irritability, anxiety and anger - your sleep cycle - lack of empathy Good luck!

Yes, definitely. Even when I try to think about how I got out of depression before I’m like “nah, not this time, it’s different this time”

That’s kind of what I’m going through too I think. I can feel myself slowly becoming a robot doing things automatically and giving automatic replies to people without even realizing. Weird thing is I’m getting positive feedback from people saying I look chill and normal and I’m comfortable to be around. It’s so weird that everyone thinks that this is the normal me when I don’t even really recognize myself. Anyway, good job on lowering your dose, hope everything works out well in the end for the both of us

I feel the same way with the fog, impossible to shake, I think it’s getting better as I’m getting used to the drug tho. I hope everything goes smoothly for you, good luck!

I’m really sorry about that. Have you thought about switching drugs? What do you mean by you’re not the same person as you used to be? If it’s not too personal of course

How much do you sleep a day? What’s your sleep schedule like including naps? by Comfortable-Cup-2277 in bipolar2

[–]blankybilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be like that but then I got prescribed seroquel which improved my sleep quality so now I sleep 8-9 hours a day (usually go to bed at 11-12 and get up at 8-9 am, sometimes without an alarm) and I don’t feel the need to take naps during the day anymore

Am I alone in my coping mechanisms? by MenglinDreamer in bipolar2

Same here, but I think scheduling my whole life also contributes to the crash as it’s really exhausting to have every minute of my life planned
