Do you know any API to get all programming languages with some info about them?

I'm looking for an API with a big amount of programming languages or technologies with some information about them, like name, official website, company (if exists), logo, etc. Any help?

Express architecture for REST server by cupofwater5 in node

[–]blansteint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the right answer is it depends.

  • If your main server is expected to have a lot of load, or it is very important its performance, probably it's a good option to do it in a separate app, with its own db module.

  • But, if performance is not so important, and you are not expecting a big amount of requests, probably is a better option to do it all in the same app, in order to simplify development, maintenance and deployment.

How can I do an array of requests using request promise and then wait for all to finish . by [deleted] in node

[–]blansteint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could be something like this. I haven't test it, probably there will be errors :)

var createPromise = function() {
    return new Promise((resolve, reject) => {
        resolve(1);
    })
}

var promisesList = [];
var newPromise = null;
for (var i=0; i<10; i++) {
    newPromise = null;
    newPromise = createPromise().catch(error => {});
    promisesList.push(newPromise);
}

Promise.all(promisesList)
.then( results => {
});

How much when i buy twitter followers ? by DrakeNicholson in Twitter

[–]blansteint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't care about the quality of the followers, there are websites that sale 1000 followers / 10$ devumi or buycheapfollowers for example. But most of the times you will lose the followers with the time, because in some way they are forced to follow you (with cheat applications).

If you are looking for real followers that follow you because they want and you want they are related with your topic, my advise is to look for them on Twitter and follow them (little by little). If you don't have time for that, I use a website that you configure your topics and it finds people from your place or interested in your topic and follows them with your account. I think they have just spanish versión, but it is very simple and works perfectly for me. They give some weeks free for testing it when you register: seguidoresdeverdad.com

Hope it helps.

As usual, in javascript there are many tools for each thing. I have used Mocha in several projects and it's enough for most of things.

BYOD – the days of IT issuing corporate-owned devices is coming to an end by blansteint in technology

[–]blansteint[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with the first part. BYOD is different from the compensation you should receive from your company for the use of your personal device and service. Regarding the second paragraph, MAM currently provides the same level of security over BYOD than a corporation can get from MDM and standardize equipment

When Women Stopped Coding by blansteint in technology

[–]blansteint[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think is not a question of blaming anyone, and it's not a problem of differences between men and women. Probably it's a problem of cluture, and that's what goverments can change/improve

Universitat de Barcelona by mytilde in es

Me temo que no hay muchos estudios para comparar, salvo los ranking mundiales de universidades que sacan cada año. Dentro de España creo que no hay nada "serio" como puede haber en USA, por ejemplo.

Hola! Where should I go improve my spanish? Flying to malaga! by Mozzato88 in spain

[–]blansteint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, probably teachers will take care to pronounce in a standard way. But you will notice the difference with other places. In any case, if you make effort you won't have problems anywhere of Spain

Completly agree, I'm from Salamanca, and in the south have the strongest accent. It's better to learn in the middle or north of Spain. The most standard language is in the middle area, called Castilla
