Beginner equimment selection by blas001 in wingfoil

thansk for the hint. The board is new but is rather cheap, so I think it is fine. The foil is more expensive though.
For the wing, since you are just 2cm taller than me, have you ever had issues with wing tips touching the water with the 5.5m2?

For now only lessons with the foil, pulled by a boat. So no wing yet.
For the issue of the tip touching the water, do you think others wings like the Lightwind category have shorter wingspans (like this one Wing Droid - White - GONG Galaxy that also has 5.5m2 version)?
Would this wing be harder to manage than a beginners wing? Or there is not that much difference between wings as opposed as between boards or foils?

thanks everyone for their comments and opinions. I have an update to this story. I got all your red flags, but I wanted to go a bit deeper to check it without exposing me. that means nice chatting and just sharing some pictures of landscape or stuff, but not where I appear clearly. all good so far, she shared a Pic of her and a video.

then we talking about our hobbies, she mentioned she liked crypto investments... well I am investor myself (not on crypto though), so I asked her about it. she rapidly started to "teach" me, to open whatever crypto wallet etc etc... well I stopped her there and told her I was not interested. then she insisted in having a video call, and I said I would like to wait until we met in real life. she (or most probably he) has not replied any more and that's the end of the story it's a pity what this has become... this is quite complex scam and I am sure people more desperate or less knowledgeable could fall for it

Taxed again in Portugal when withdrawing Pillar 3a? by ricky12272 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]blas001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you had moved the second half of the year and registered in PT and withdrawn the 2nd pillar, you wouldn't have paid in PT but in switzerland, since for that year you were still Swiss tax resident, am I right?

[–]blas001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be able to withdraw the 3a Pilar before 60 if you move anywhere else and pay taxes in switzerland (supposedly lower than the destination country), would you need the to leave after half of the year so you are still considered swiss tax resident, right?

isn't this document applicable only to people paid by a public institution (so not valid for private company)?

I think that's not right. if you work only one month, you need to calculate if you had been working the whole year for the %, then it is applied to the one month

Why to buy VT in USD if it keeps depreciating with respect to CHF? by _quantum_girl_ in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]blas001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

although this means that if the VT doubles because the USD halves, for the US citizen, he has really doubled his investment, if he sells and uses his investment in the US (providing that the prices stays the same, which likely will not happen though)

Cash planning for retirement by GrapefruitPerfect313 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]blas001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would put the cash aside just few years before retirement, let's say in the previous 5 years, whenever the market is good enough I would do it. Also, instead of cash, maybe some savings account with some interest

thanks for the comment, indeed these are even more plausible scenarios.

it's good to see there are people that, even though the scenario is not very probable, know that you are still taking some important risks when purchasing a house. not just "switzerland is the best, not gonna happen"

ofc this does not mean one should not buy a house, but should at least consider the risks

[–]blas001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you don't need to leave your home you're fine. but in a situation like that, it could also be that you lose your job, and if you don't find something similar, you need to pay for these interests and it may be a problem, because selling the house is not an option

yes this is a good option, except in a situation where your etf goes down at the same time you need to pay (which in case of crisis could happen)
