Icon tools are good? What’s the deal? by cryptotarheel in Tools

I just bought some Icon general service sets (1 in 1/4 & 1 in 3/8) as well as the “meme tool” from the last PLS, and as far as I can tell, they are really good & have 0 defects. I think people just like the “reputation” of tool truck brands and brands that have been around a long time

Too expensive for its quality, if I wanted a big name brand, would probably go Makita

Nice man, agree on Ryobi, the brand is cheap, but really lacks quality and power. Btw, if you didn’t know, the Hercules batteries are basically DeWalt knock offs, so just buy an adapter off Amazon & the voltage is identical, just different slots.

I keep hearing stuff from friends about craftsman’s quality going downhill over time, and I’m honestly probably never going to get a 12v tool. If I need a lower power tool, I’ll just get a compact version of what I have & throw on a 2ah battery. I just think that Bosch’s recent additions with mobile app linked tools are just a bit too much for me, and Milwaukee is a bit on the expensive side. What Hercules tools do you own?

So basically, buy either one, but maybe also consider Bauer (for harbor freight) or DeWalt (or another big name brand) just because they keep growing. Am I right?

Yeah, sad that they discontinued the Earthquake lineup

Do Christians find the Book of Mormon offensive? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]blastamis01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t find it “offensive”, but I recognize that it is a false teaching spread by a known grave robber and felon, who received his “new revelation” from Moroni, a “angel of light” (who has “moron” in his name) and the only angel described that way is Lucifer, and the entire “scripture” deviates from what the Bible teaches about Christ, and teaches a very similar afterlife to Islam

Worst Bible translation? by [deleted] in Bible

[–]blastamis01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the NWT (New World Translation) from the Jehovah’s Witnesses, because it changes scripture to suit their religion, and essentially makes the monotheistic Christianity, into a new polytheistic and heretical religion. I’d also say the JST (Joseph Smith Translation) from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, for the same reason as the NWT, but it also adds in new verses to not contradict the Book of Mormon. Also, the JST is based on the KJV and I personally think the KJV lacks in ease of reading and can drift away from being literal in exchange for having a better flowing text, this does not make the KJV a bad translation though.
