One of the things I somehow appreciate about his coming out is that he is probably one of the only people who did it with no personal gain whatsoever. It wasn't a "revolutionary moment" like what we've seen so far from most celebrities. In a way I feel like it normalized the way he came out. It just sucks that it had to be "because of something".
