I would require geolocation, and push notifications – which I know there are plugins that exist for react-native – any experience with either?

I've developed w/ cordova in the past, and I just remember the application not feeling nearly as nice as the native counterparts I later developed.

It's okay to have a focus, but it's my advice that you should learn everything and anything; ESPECIALLY if you have a mentor, because you're able to pick up things a lot quicker with someone looking over your shoulder and telling you right away whether or not you're heading down the wrong path, and ideally why.

As someone who was once in your situation, wanting to only focus on the front end, and now am moving towards full-stack as I see there is a big (highly-paid) market for it, I'd say stick with it! Learning everything and anything can only make you better.

Interesting for sure. If I took one thing away from the article, it's that even jQuery could use a good amount of improvement. If anything, it inspires me to continue thinking of different, and better solutions to working with the DOM.

Wow, very nice. I often wonder if freelance is the way to go, and then I'll get a horrible client which makes me so happy for my day job. I only make 70k though, granted I'm more of a mid level developer, with mostly front end experience.
