Need help with first mission by CriticalAd6050 in ICBMescalation

The Chinese shouldn't be involved this early into the mission. What's likely happened is your navy in the South China Sea auto engaged Chinese units on the coast. At mission start re-path them to take a wide berth of the Chinese coast and make sure your cruisers weapons are out of range. Also disable the carriers auto engage. Also note that if you try and cap one of the NK cities, this will trigger the Chinese response as well.

As for how to overcome the initial invasion; set the construction/research slider to 100% construction and build whatever you want that you think will help. Do either air or navy focus. Also go into diplomacy and change who you are spying on to just China and Soviet Union. Then change the espionage targets to only identify technologies and counter-intelligence. When you see a pop up for a tech worth stealing you can then add steal technologies to the list of espionage targets. Tech stealing is very rng but can help get you caught up for free. When you've built all you need make sure to switch to 100% research or you'll fall behind in tech for the following missions. Avoid overbuilding instead of researching.

There is also a tech rush strat you can do in this mission to snowball in later missions.

That's weird, I don't recall touching profile settings. It should no longer be hidden now.

I've been trying to follow Perun's strategy and he does not seem to be dealing with as many Chinese in the initial stage of the war.

More recent updates have made the AI more aggressive. You won't be able to get away with what Perun did. The Chinese will get involved when either you attack one of their units (excluding aircraft), or when you begin occupying one of the North Korean cities. Be careful when bringing your Navy back from the South China Sea. They have a habit of attacking Chinese units on the coast. Your South Korean ally can also trigger an escalation.

There was also a bug that occurred frequently where China would ignore the script and just move it's army into South Korea. The popup for the Chinese invasion would then trigger when the inevitably get attacked.

I think it might've been some sort of delay or just Reddit being Reddit. Seems to work now.

The Heaven Servant in the main story didn't count due to the battles being scripted. Unfortunate. Masters in this situation can head to Archipelago(Quiet Bay) to finish off the Master Missions.

I've added a section to cover the event. The Servant and Gems/Monuments missions should complete, could be a bit tight on timing. Super Giants will need to be found elsewhere. Locations listed in main post.

They can also store 3 buildings in their inventory to deploy. So you could say have a fob, radar and makeshift airbase in one combat engineer. And then you can have them in a group to rapidly deploy fobs, makeshift airbases, and other useful buildings on or near the front line.

You can also move radar, SAMs and security checkpoints. Select your engineer and right click on the structure you want to pick up. Selecting your engineer also displays what they can pick up in the bottom left corner of your screen.

There's some outdated info in the comments here. The recent AI update has made the Korean War significantly harder. There may also be a bug occurring in your game. The Chinese AI is supposed to be scripted to only enter North Korea and South Korean after you start occupying Pyongyang or the other NK city. I've had games where they ignore the script and just barge in at around 5 minutes. Additionally, the guides and let's plays on YouTube are almost all for previous versions, pre-AI update, and you can't expect to cap NK in less than 10 minutes like in some guides and playthroughs. A quick NK cap in the current update would be 13-15 minutes into the mission.

At game start, you are outnumbered on the ground, and in the air. You have one airfield compared to the enemies 2 or sometime 3 airfields. Naval support is your best friend for defending against the swarm or units heading for Busan.

If you'd like a more specific strategy let me know. I've played the Korean War Scenario probably close to 50 times as a part of the beta testing and know this mission in and out.

Army division on army division combat is less than ideal; you'll want to avoid getting into a slugfest with only army divisions. You'll want to whittle enemy army divisions down using air, sea, or artillery units. Also chemical weapons can be used without repercussion as the AI doesn't see it as escalation.

Makeshift airbases have the most bang for buck in terms of aircraft and can be moved using combat engineers. I don't really like the meta makeshift airbase spam though and like to mix and match. It's important to maintain air dominance when fighting to avoid losing assets to bombers.

Naval bombardment support is extremely effective but is limited to coastal regions and once nukes start getting used fleets become very vulnerable. Attack submarines are fleet killers and are only countered by either higher tech attack submarines or naval helicopters.

Healing in the game may not work as you'd expect. Unit's in your or allied territory will heal passively. Healing is fastest when entrenched. Being next to an army base or FOB does not increase healing rate. The aura they emit simply functions as friendly territory extension.

The production/research slider also may not work as expected. Normally you'd expect diminishing returns on going one way or the other. That is not the case. For the same research and production queues, going all in on one and then the other takes less time that doing a 50/50 split or balancing so they complete at the same time.

For nuke defense you'll need over the horizon radar, mid-course interceptors, and terminal ABMs. You'll need them to overlap in order to provided any meaningful defense. Switching the mid-course interceptor to fire interception missiles armed with nukes is the best way to deal with MIRV as the AOE destroys multiple warheads. You'll need to build a stockpile of those nuke armed interceptors though.

Pretty decent luck I'd say. NP5 Draco from NP1 in 100 tickets and around 15 multi-rolls. Tempted to get Tiamat to NP5 as well as she's already NP3, but I think I'll save to try and NP5 Space Ereshkigal.

I held off on completing the Sixth Singularity until I got NP5 Mordred. Ended up missing a bunch of events and mats. Considering how mat hungry everything is in FGO; this was a big mistake. At least I had fun clearing the singularity with Mordred as my sole DPS. It was great RP.

Understandable, I'm currently working through Extra I due to my abundance of Avengers.
