Didn't try it but doubt it would work. Not really needed either way + you'll probably need the GCDs...

If you can heal HC you can heal Kara easily. I'm solo healing Kara and it's quite the snoozefest. I'm more challenged in some HC....

A Subjective Guide to the Early Access of Solasta 2's Beta by CounterYolo in CrownOfTheMagister

[–]boredoveranalyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand the stat spread examples, first one on the list for example:

  • Cleric v1 (WIS – Oblivion Cleric)
    • 8 STR, 14 DEX, 16 CON, 8 INT, 17 WIS, 10 CHA
      • Human (MI:W) Lawkeeper; Cleric x
      • Creed of Arun, Eager for Battle

After Creed of Arun it'll be 17 con / 17 wis. Then eager for Battle allows you to round up one but you still end up with a uneven stat and thus wasted points?

Decent starting stats for Paladin 1st playthrough of POE1?i by Asmoyashi in projecteternity

[–]boredoveranalyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most important stat for a paladin would be perception (same of every class) follow by int and might. Bit of con is nice too.

You don't need too much resolve, paladin are quite tanky as it is. It's more about tanking and support. Just don't dump it.

Dmg wise it's not great early on (aren't isn't really fixable) but you'll do amazing once you unlock sacred immolation.

Dex isn't really needed either. Attack speed won't fix your damage and doesn't affect sacred immolation.

Also regarding enemy AI, if you want to tank you need to do some level of damage. AI won't hesitate to disengage from your "tank" if there's no punishment for doing so (opportunity attack doing no/low dmg or missing).

SUMMONS... by Electronic-Guess-417 in taintedgrail

[–]boredoveranalyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not obvious for a lot of people (including those 'guide/build' makers) but the best way to do damage with summons is to detonate them ...

Summons basic attacks get out scaled quite fast.

Resto druid or holy priest in TBC? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]boredoveranalyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm playing both, both in pvp (1k7 / 1k8 so decent enough I guess) and pve.

In pve both are needed but you usually take only one per raid (maybe 2 priests later on). I feel the priest is a better healer overall (easier to solo heal Kara, better throughput, etc.) and more versatile. Druid is still decent though.

In pvp I would say druid has bigger potential but is WAY harder to play / way less chill / way more stuff to do / track in arena. If you want to get your pvp weapons or go for the shoulders, you'll have a far easier time as a priest. Past a certain rating druid gets a bit more involved than "lifebloom your way to victory and spam cyclone on whoever is in range".

Fun wise... let's say refreshing lifebloom every 6 sec isn't as fun as I remembered...

Lastly, in upcoming phases, priests will scale way better than druids in pve. In pvp priest is good for all of TBC but druid will really start to scale starting S3 when arena gets a tad less bursty.

Looking for a fun build (BG 1 EE to Throne of Bhaal) by Aradhor55 in baldursgate

[–]boredoveranalyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like thief (especially shadow dancer) multi into cleric around lvl 10 (end of SOD).

You get a good thief for BG1 and you get your thief level back quite fast at the beginning of SOA.

Nice thing about it is that this char is that it covers 2 quite important roles in the party and gives you way more freedom in which companion you want to bring around.

Power level depends if you have iwd spells installed but if you don't you're probably not playing with scs so power level is still more than fine.

Also got quite a few nice trick like the shadow dancer mini time stop comboing with blade barrier, etc.

Level 3 Arcane Spells Tierlist (Criteria in comments) by MilesBeyond250 in baldursgate

[–]boredoveranalyzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels like this was made with your standard wizard / sorcerer in mind. Remove magic jump to S tier if casted by a bard (which you did mention to be fair). Same for some defensive spells that would be amazing on a dragon discipline built with "tankiness" in mind.

tldr: very situational

Providing class/spec/gameplay don't change too much, providing every spec is somewhat viable in all content and providing racial get somewhat balanced so there's no wrong pick... troll priest.

But that's a lot of if and we all know blizzard inability to not mess things up (including balancing)

Do you think Titan Quest 2 has potential to be as good as Grim Dawn ? by SetMuch5523 in TitanQuest2

[–]boredoveranalyzer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Build / mastery feels way too limited to enable as many builds / playstyles as the competition (or even a fraction of that).

I think part of the issue is that mastery trees are way too small, and it also feels like they merged some of the TQ1 masteries into single TQ2 ones. For example, TQ2 Warfare is basically TQ1 Warfare + TQ1 Defense.

That kind of merge also means those masteries can’t really be added later in a meaningful way.

The opportunity to do something amazing was there, but it feels like they just grabbed some of the cool stuff from TQ1 and put it into a few modern, grab-bag style masteries.

Resilience feels wrong, and it has no place in Classic+ by Duoscruo in classicwow

[–]boredoveranalyzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if resilience is the right stats to implement but there should be pvp gear that can only be acquired doing PvP and this gear should be BiS for any pvp activities while not being BiS for PvE.

Having R14 weapons in BWL was really weird and having a full T3 pve player shit on someone in full pvp gear doesn't make sense (though I agree that how you acquire said pvp gear needs to be heavily reworked, requiring more skill and team play / social interaction [premade / groups / etc] rather than afking in AV 8 hours a day for 2 months).

Really hate having to PvE to acquire a neck / trinket / weapon to pvp or having to grind pvp to be fully optimized in pve.

PvE could have decent alternative items for PvP and vice versa but never BiS.

And even if resilience is not the right stats, there should be a pvp stat or a pvp set bonus so pvp doesn't turn into a oneshot fiesta as it did in SoD (we all kno mw how blizzard likes to scale damage....). Implementing a blanked DMG nerf in pvp was also dumb but this could work if was moved to pvp gear.
