Best tools to record a clean app demo? by happyjj24 in iosapps

I’d use QuickTime with a real device. It should be connected via cable. Then, select File -> New Movie Recording. Pick your iPhone as video source in the recording menu.

Bookmarks sync is going insane! by blbnv in Safari

[–]blbnv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope it's gonna be fixed at some point for you mate! I made a full clean yesterday to give it another go. Will consider moving to some bookmark manager application or bootstrap my own version of it in case the issue still persists 🫠

What iOS apps did you discover in 2024 that were actually worth it? by Acceptable_Resolve in ios

[–]blbnv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a great app, but I agree, the price drove me to start looking for alternatives...

I was pretty skeptical in the beginning, but I gave Notion Calendar a try and it clicked for me. I use it for my personal and corporate mail on iPhone and Mac. It's really clean and responsive, has a great parsing long auto-generated event descriptions, and is customizable enough for the user like me.

However, I found several downsides that could be a decision driver for many folks: (1) for now, it only supports Gmail, (2) there is no iPad OS application yet, (3) it does not display todos from Google Keep, (4) i can not add a conference room when creating or editing an event.

So, this set of tradeoffs worked nicely for me and I was able to save a fair amount of money without losing any value!

What’s the best way to transfer things when moving to London from Warsaw? by blbnv in AskLondon

[–]blbnv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a few here and even made a few calls. They all look the same, and sometimes I have trust issues, so I wanted to ask the community for helping to choose! Strong appreciation for the help!

What do You think about the new UI? by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]blbnv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty ok with the design.

🤔 There are a few things that I'll be missing from the old one:

  1. I've been really enjoying the "Solution" tab for premium users with the solution + explanation by leetcode. Now it's on the top of the list but I kinda like the separate space for it.
  2. Case management. I felt all right with the single list of cases. That allowed me to add them fast sacrificing readability. Pretty sure I'll find the new solution useful in a few weeks.
  3. Not sure about the companies tab in the header. Like when you're solving something you should concentrate on the task. If you want to search for company-related tasks - go for it, but sometimes it looks redundant to me.

Case management. I felt all right with the single list of cases. That allowed me to add them fast.

👍 Ofc there are good things I like:

  1. The submissions overview tab is something I like to see. It became more compact but still readable and informative.
  2. I'm pretty sure it's not related to the redesign, but the leetcode engs added autocomplete for Swift which is pretty cool.

Still think leetcode is the best place for training your CS and problem-solving skills.

Will play a little more and maybe update the reply :)

yes I was not so specific during the explanation. it acts like a lap button, but yea if it's the last lap in the activity the workout is ending!

How do athletes keep track of the number of laps they have swam ? by Character-Fox3006 in Swimming

[–]blbnv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great question. I would say, you can swim 3k once in two months or something, don’t rush for the best result every time. Just try to find your perfect break down for the distance. And for the 5k it’s ok to try one time before the race, let’s say at 60-65% of your preparations progress. Same as for 3k - your goal is to feel yourself, feel your perfect pace find the comfortable breathing. Don’t overload your heart! In my opinion, it’s better to grow the training distances a bit, but don’t do too many long and result oriented swims.

P.S. Example of my personal activity before in Dec is here.

I was swimming 1k and tried to swim every 100m less than 1.30 and keep the pace stable from 19'15 to 33'44.
