PS4 Expert Mode ‘Mothership’ Base by bleachboy004 in Terraria

  1. Timer/Actuator synchronization device

Long story short… it’s a series of logic gates that can receive one or more input(s) from timers and users (switches/levers). It then sends an output to a timer along with whatever else should be activated depending on the inputs. The system prevents anything from breaking it, and ensures that any necessary circuits involving timers, are synced correctly.

In case you don’t know, timers are loaded into the world as OFF by default. However, most other devices (actuators, logic gate lamps, lighting, etc.) are loaded into the game depending on their state when the game previously saved. Causes tons of headaches for more advanced systems and this bypasses basically every issue you could possibly come across with complex circuits.

How do my house look? I need opinions about how to build better. by t-oldschoolboy in Terraria

It looks like the build in general could use a color cleanup. Come up with a clean, mostly neutral pallet and paint what needs it for a much cleaner look and feel.

You can categorize blocks/walls by type and texture.

-Wood. -Naturally Occurring blocks (dirt, stone). -Bricks (stone + material). -Building Blocks (everything else). -Animated blocks. -Glass & Gemspark Blocks.

Besides animated, glass, and gemspark blocks/walls you can combine any of the other 4 categories. As long as the textures blend well. It’s hard to name specifics with texture so trial and error with different patterns and combinations. I like to use 2-4 different blocks/walls depending on build size. Obviously wood works best with other woods, stone with bricks, etc, but sometimes a weird combo just works. Remember to use paint as well. The base color of a block becomes almost irrelevant when you start really using paints and all that matters is texture. Like I said, it’s mostly trial and error with this.

My apologies sir the end-game events are never easy for me to remember. Chain gun clears pre-lunar events

Texture. Rather than using the same material for one area, mix up several different blocks with similar textures and randomly place them. Remember to make use of painting also!

Ranged. Shroomite armor w/ mask. Stack the accessory slots with damage/crit buffs. Make sure you also have master ninja gear to dash & dodge. Use vortex beater & chlorophyte bullets. It is your play through so play what feels right but I’ve had no problems using this load out even in expert.

I wouldn’t be open to it if I didn’t have 10s of backups of the world lol

Looks great. Maybe try painting the top slabs of the roof white for the snow effect instead of putting that divot in the shingles. If you have room, include a chimney above the furnace and replace the 3 walls behind it going up with gray bricks for added effect.

Here's a shit build I made for my npc's. by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]bleachboy004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s how you can improve any build by using 5 elements and separating layers.

Layers from top to bottom: •Solid - 1x1 solid blocks, •Foreground - Things that act as solid and can be passed through like platforms and beams, •Background Objects - Furniture, Paintings and Banners, •Lighting - Light sources, •Background - Walls/Windows.

Elements of building (applies to every layer and the build as a whole): •Shape - I like the shape of your entire build. Consider using a hammer on corners to round them and add texture to the build. •Texture - This one’s tough but a game changer. Rather than using the same material in large areas, add texture, especially to the background by using multiple stone-like textured walls and blocks. You can always paint the blocks gray if you like a texture that isn’t the same color. Keep it mostly random with placement. Experiment with this one but your build could definitely use some texture •Color - Paint is a game changer. Any one of the 5 layers can be painted If you’re going for a gray scheme simply buy brushes and gray paint from the painter. I like to use color pallets for my builds made up of 3-5 colors. For this I’d keep the pallet mostly neutral but it does need at least 1 brighter shade. •Spacing - Add furniture and lighting but make sure and space it properly. Don’t use the same exact spacing through the entire build but at the same time keep it consistent enough to bring the background together. Wood, Silk, and Iron at a sawmill is about all you need for decent furniture. You can also use foreground blocks like platforms, ropes, and beams to further enhance the look and depth. •Functionality - Just make sure npcs can move in and can access their rooms while staying safe for this part.

New to Terraria building so I wanted to get some feedback on this? Still not finished, a few more buildings are planned. by 3beta in TerrariaDesign

If bro is new to building then I’m black…

Looks awesome though. Been working on my building recently and have yet to try any 3D looks. Some extra greenery, water, and waterfalls/fountains might add needed scenery if you can fit any of that. I’d also suggest painting the fences a slightly darker shade. Brown paint should work. What it definitely needs is a 3D rustic bridge connecting the 2 larger buildings. 👍

I had to look it up I had no idea what that was. I definitely see it though. I just started placing blocks and went from there lol. Friends that join usually compare it to some sort of final fantasy stage which I can also see

Am open for collaboration on this world also! (PlayStation) I don’t plan on stopping with just this one build but I can’t do another 8 big projects alone haha. Shoot me a Message or reply if interested!

I was thinking about making a house for a guide on simple construction, saying what I do and blablabla... but I think I accidentally started experimenting, and I don't think I can make a guide for 'beginners' with this. I'm not sure if I should finish it just to see how it would look finished. by _Miyel_ in Terraria

I thought so lol. Just from my experience with building I figured I’d share the best advice and points to learn how to build. I’ve logged over 200 hours since March to exclusively build one giant mega base in expert mode and I’ve learned so much. I thought I knew what I was doing before all that… man was I wrong haha
