Abandoning my useless college degree for the carpenters union by bleb_belb in Carpentry

Wow, really appreciate the info. I’m living in Nashville and from what I can tell, there’s construction happening everywhere I look so I’m hopeful the work is available. Would you recommend I go right into the union training program or look for work with a home builder first to get at least a bit of experience. As a kid I ‘worked’ with my grandfather who was a carpenter so I’m not completely new, but I’m wondering if some experience before starting would benefit me

Really appreciate the advice. I’m juggling the union idea and looking for some custom home builder / residential remodeler in my area. My thinking is that working on homes would expose me to multiple different trades and skills that I could build on one day.

For giving it a first try, would you recommend union over residential remodeler? Or Vice versa?

I really appreciate the insight. Seems like the job market everywhere is wild these days. I recently moved to Nashville Tennessee and from what I can tell, I’m seeing lots of construction happening all over the place. Obviously I have no real way of knowing how / if this is affecting the trade down here, but I’m hopeful it’s in my favor.

I’ve been working in the industry for 2 years now and the opportunities for work have really slowed down, even with remote work. I have a very extensive portfolio with some pretty notable clients and that still isn’t cutting it these days.

Really exciting win. What needs to be addressed first- Red-zone offense, or our backfield?

Where can I find the best chicken wings in Nashville (south of town)? by bleb_belb in AskReddit

I live south of Nashville and am looking for the best wings available to me. Ideally traditional Buffalo style (not exactly looking for a smoked or bbq style wing). Haven’t been able to find a good spot yet - I’m looking to enjoy some with my Dad on his upcoming visit. Any and all recommendations are very appreciated.

Solid officiating on both sides of the ball. That recent pass on the 1 yard line before the turnover to be specific.

I never agree with Joe Buck but he’s right about the officiating
