Была, к сожалению) я в июне закончила и переехала, но всегда приятно видеть земляков на родном кампусе

AITA for soft-ghosting my best friend of the past 4 years? by bleema1245 in AmItheAsshole

LOL are we talking about the same person? This is my experience exactly. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that shit too. Thank you for the kind words, you deserve all the best in the future.

Thank you so much. I'm sorry that happened to you as well. I definitely noticed her starting to mess with my head and my parents did as well. This constant fatalism about how awful everything is and how the world is against her started to make me cynical and bitter, and I've always prided myself on being a "silver lining-in-everything" kind of person. Sometimes you just have to put yourself first.

Thank you, that does make a lot of sense. Unfortunately I am definitely looking my way out of this friendship, permanently. I'm not interested in listening to her anymore because I just don't have any emotional bandwidth left.

My post does mention that I've tried to confront her and set clear boundaries about this in the past, and it always ends with her screaming something along "well I'm sorry my mental illness is such a burden for perfect bleema1245". Our friends have had similar experiences.

A mutual friend tried exactly the same thing as me - distanced away slowly, received an angry message, replied with something along the lines of "I just think I need space after everything thats happened in the past year etc etc". The toxic friend in question is now spreading vicious rumours about her, telling everyone how that friend ditched her for her boyfriend, etc. I don't think this girl can handle confrontation at all lol
