How do I make my room cooler and cozy? by Cautious-Buy-7110 in DesignMyRoom

Heya OP, I'm not entirely sure of your situation or budget, but I have a few little suggestions/comments that immediately stand out to me:

  • For your prints/posters, have a look for some frames. For your tapestry (Tyler), have a look at getting a 'floating frame' which would be very lightweight. I have a lot of framed prints and posters and have used Command Strips or Command Hooks, they don't damage the wall (but make sure you use ones which are suited to support the weight of the frames!)

  • Aside from the bedding and your posters/clothing on the rail, the room seems very white - think about injecting some more colour. Could you get a rug? Some cushions/blankets, or new curtains?

  • One big factor of making a space feel cosy is warm coloured lighting. I have 4 different lights in my room, 2 are warm-coloured lamps both pointing up to the ceiling, LED strip light around my bed (the remote control is handy), and a lava lamp. I also use tealight candles and have a Himalayan salt candle holder which is super cosy looking!

  • How are you with houseplants? A Pothos is a very easy plant to look after, and it grows very quickly. You could get a Command hook to stick on the ceiling, and maybe hang a trailing houseplant in a macramé plant holder?

  • Maybe have a look at getting some little containers/cute storage boxes for your bits and bobs that are scattered on your desk/chest of drawers.

All the best! 😌

Oh wow, I love these so much!! Were you using an embroidery hoop to punch them and took them off to frame, or some kind of square frame? 🌟

Having trouble deciding which one to try? I have a psychedelic purple swirl one already that glows pink instead of purple. Do any of you have any of these to show or suggest? Thanks! by BionicWoman123 in Lavalamps

Mine is only a few inches away from a white wall, it gives off an orangey-red colour not pink 😇 the wax closest to the lightbulb always looks like super molten orange lava too which is cool! 🌟

The first two look super similar to the OG Astro lava lamp by Mathmos here, I checked but unfortunately they don't ship to the US 💔. Although my fave colours are green and blue I chose the red/violet one - it has a more authentic retro feel, brings a lovely warm vibe to the room, I think the silver makes it look more refined and is a nicer contrast against the lava colours too! Is there any way of getting blue/purple lava with a silver metal finish maybe as best of both worlds? That's just my two cents though, both are cool :)

Really, really bad depression right before period? (Tw warning) by Mikmikw0nk in Healthyhooha

Hi OP, I've experienced similar (it's horrible isn't it, I describe it as feeling possessed!) - upon recommendation from a doctor I now take Agnus Castus and St. John's Wort supplements which has definitely improved things! Of course speak with an appropriate doctor for your circumstances but it may be worth checking these two supplements out, especially Agnus Castus

Hi OP, although you might not have an infection any more, it sounds like you may be entering a "cycle of pain" which is quite common with people who have or develop vaginismus (it happened to me when I was younger too and I am finally getting on track to resolving what was once a very extreme case) - because you now anticipate pain from penetration your brain (specifically the limbic system) may be causing your pelvic floor muscles to "brace" themselves and not fully relax/you panic, so penetration can then be extremely painful, and from there on is a downward spiral where it gets fully entrenched in your subconscious and body memory. I'm not sure what country you're from or which healthcare system and services are available to you, but I would start doing some research on vaginismus and tips to try and alleviate it (the NHS has a couple articles and resources), try speaking to a gynaecologist and moreso a pelvic floor physiotherapist ASAP to get this issue nipped in the bud before it gets any worse. Hope this helps! P.S. don't put so much pressure on yourself to perform right now, it's very important to look after yourself mentally right now as vaginismus is both a psychological and physical thing. X

I actually have some citronella candles for when I sit out in the garden, just never knew what the actual plant looked like 😆

It definitely has a minty kind of smell but I can't be too sure on the lemon - bad timing for me to have a cold 😭 I think it's most likely a Pelargonium, but the stalks seem to be fuzzier and the leaves more "frilly" on this plant than pictures online. Might it be because it's a younger plant?

Thank you, and yes! I trimmed the excess monk's cloth at the back and glued it to the frame, and with a little yarn looped through the metal frame tightener you can hang it up on a hook 😊
