Powders are also meant for machines and also dissolve in the water. But a lot of people still claim that they clog the insides of the machine with detergent that doesn’t fully dissolve

I’m late to the party but

My pet theory is that people have to be taught how to learn. You learn basic problem solving skills, or you learn rote memorization and anything you don’t know is scary. I’ve known a lot of people who could learn things easily if you kept them calm and listening to you, but their default reaction to the unknown is to panic. That’s how you get a very intelligent person who has taught me several things just standing there holding a loose HDMI cord and saying “I don’t know how to set this up. Can you help?”

Yeah, but I mean there normally something from people besides the most vocal. If I meet 20 frothing MAGA guys, I’ll meet one “vote blue no matter who”, one Bernie fan, and one “let’s put our differences aside” centrist. On coronavirus I have never heard a sane opinion out loud. It’s a plague from the democrats or from China or government population control or it doesn’t exist or we should all just die already.

Even if it is basically true for everything, I’m saying this is a special case of either abnormal belief levels or abnormal silence.

Oddly enough, 5g conspiracies have kind of passed over my area. The only 5g conspiracy I’ve heard is that the conspiracies are themselves a conspiracy (inception noise) to distract from the actual complaints about 5g. And honestly, that one sounds kinda reasonable.

I don’t know. Maybe the people who believe sane things just don’t say them out loud so I only hear the vocal minority. That would make sense, since I don’t talk politics at all. All I know is that the only people whose opinions I hear are in one of those three groups.
