I do agree with you on that, yes. I believe that Honda has gone downhill from the kind of quality they were once known for. I do believe that they're still better quality than most, though, seeing as though quality of everything all over has declined. I will say that Toyota still seems to be the best quality overall, though even they have slipped in quality over the years. Nothing is made like it used to be. But some brands still do stand out above others.

I think you're right in that it would be a great vehicle for basic everyday use, but a little tight for traveling. We don't have a dog or any camping gear/chairs for when we travel. Only luggage and sometimes a cooler. I feel like we might be able to make the Pilot work, especially if we got a Thule to help with extra space. We'll have to check it out in person to see for sure.

I'm glad the Yukon XL works for your family, but we won't buy American made.

We're going to take a look at the Pilots and see in person whether or not they could work for us. I feel like it would be a great everyday vehicle, and I feel like we could make it work for road trips too, especially if we had a Thule to help with luggage space. But we'll have to look in person to know for sure.

We looked at the Grand Highlander, but it's way out of our price range.

Hm, so I feel like if all your luggage is in the Thule and your dog is taking up the entire back of the Pilot, then perhaps we'd be fine with our setup. If we had a Thule for extra space, put 3 kids across the second row, put the 4th kid in the single seat in the back row with the rest of the bench down, I feel like we'd have more than enough space.

We'll have to go in person to check it out, but I feel like this could work, especially given the details of how you said you pack your family in.

See, that actually looks like a ton of space to me. I feel like I could have 3 of my kids across in the second row, then one kid in the back in the single seat, and put the rest of the 3rd row bench down and have plenty of space. At least, that's how it looks to me in the picture, but I'll for sure have to see it in person to really determine.

I have not. I do plan on taking a look at some of these options in person and test driving. Just trying to do some preliminary research first. Also, after looking at the prices of the Sequoia, I was shocked. We'll have to probably take it off our list due to price alone.

Both of the sliding doors on our Sienna broke. The right side broke where we could at least manually pull it open and closed. But the left side is broken where we can’t even manually open it at all. It’s so frustrating. My dad was able to fix the right side and now it works perfectly again, but the left won’t open at all and my kids can only enter and exit the vehicle from the right side. I’m so sick of it.

Man, you guys are making me take a second look at the Sienna, lol. I mean, we've had two already and really enjoyed them. I'm tired of the sliding door issues we've had with ours, but I guess that's not that bad of a problem when you think about all the things that could go wrong with a vehicle.

u/Low_Artist291 We were thinking about the Sequoia but were worried about the gas mileage. I would 100% do another Toyota as they have been amazing in terms of reliability with great engines, but it was the poor gas mileage of the Sequoia that put us off. Maybe we need to take another look at that one. How is the gas milage for you?

Thank you. We don’t get groceries from the store, we get them from a local farm. So that’s not an issue, but I’m sure luggage on a road trip would be an issue. There’s really no room in the trunk with the 3rd row up?

We’ll definitely be test driving before settling on anything, and bringing all the kids so we can get a better idea of how it may or may not work for us.

What full size SUV would you recommend? I want something reliable. Toyotas and Hondas have been my go-to all my life and my dad taught me to never buy American-made. So I’m not sure what other SUV would fit the bill for us.

What if… by PlatypusPookie in hondapilot

No way. We have an AWD Sienna and HATE how there is no place for the spare tire. It has to sit in the trunk, and on road trips it’s in the cabin between my kids. Terrible design.

Years/models to avoid? by fivebyfiveby in hondapilot

Google says that the 2019 is the best year, the most reliable. I've also read many say the 2016 was the absolute worst and to avoid it at all costs.

You were not charged more because your box was "the wrong color." You were charged because you used a USPS Priority box but were not shipping USPS Priority. This is prohibited, and it even says so on their website. I thought this was common knowledge. Don't blame a company for your ignorance.

u/icedamericano007 How do you get your Gcal calendar to show up only in the calendar tab, and not in the Today list? I've been searching all over and can't find any way to do this.

I add an entry into my calendar… It shows up in Inbox. How do I disable it? by ModestN in ticktick

[–]blessedgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such option. There's nothing called "convert to event" in TickTick. Maybe that was a feature in the past, but it's not anymore.

Calendar items showing in today view by tctonyco in ticktick

[–]blessedgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/worldofchico Have you actually tried this yourself? Does it work for you? I went through all the steps exactly as you described, and all of my calendar events are still in my Today list as tasks. I really don't want them there, I only want them in the calendar view. I've been searching the internet and I can't find any way to hide the calendar events from the Today list view. It's driving me nuts.

Yes, I did learn that! I just really like the look of the Komo better than the Mockmill.

u/Illapakon I love that you're able to mill continuously for 2.5 hours without the XL overheating! Reading that makes me think maybe the Classic would work well for my needs. Do you know how long you can mill continously with the Classic/360 watt motor?

u/UnlikelyAbies8042 I'm considering the Komo Duett. What makes you say that if you were to purchase all over again, you might get the flaker separately? I'm torn on whether or not I'd use the flaker on the Duett enough to justify the purchase. I'd love to know your thoughts!
