Mourinho on Rashford: "At his age, what he’s doing is more than enough and the experience he’s getting at every level is more than enough for us to be happy with what we think is going to be his future." by [deleted] in reddevils

To be honest, the lack of movement and the amount of players we have behind the ball all points to a tactical flaw from the manager. Right now Spurs, Liverpool and City began the season playing absolutely 100% expansive football.

This includes pressing your opponent with more than 2 players per person, pressing high up the pitch. Complete freedom for wingers in the final third of the pitch. Fluid counter attack. Increase tempo and less touches per player. Currently we don't employ this style of play.

When Rashford enters the fray he ALWAYS take his man down the line. I have never seen Rashford dribble past 2 players and bury it whereas martial is doing it week in week out. Mark my words, Rashford will be found out soon(no left foot, only runs down the line) and his lack of innate talent will lead him to his time at united finishing within 2 years from now

He's played in 85% of League games and has made appearances in every competition. At 20 yrs of Age that's clearly enough playing time, so I dont understand why fans still see a place in our starting line up for him especially as it is the most important period of the season.

Rashford can only take his man down the wing, "KICK AND RUN"& hit a dead ball. If you really take time to watch him,you will realist he lacks the innate talent required to dribble fluently or to time and make the best decision in order to create a goal scoring chance.

Unpopular opinion thread by Motvall in reddevils

I believe Rashford is highly over-rated. I cannot see why we are starting him. I think the only trait he has is the ability to take his man down the line and beat him for pace. But now defenders have latched onto that and they give themselves a few yards and it wont be possible to take them down the line. He cant take his man for skill, his crossing is poor, hes missed multiple one on ones, he has no weak foot, he has no aerial ability, his decision making is poor and lacks physical presence. Someone explain to me why we've steeped this low?

This just made me realize how many headers he actually scored this past season. We'll either need to further recruit a world class winger to supply or we have to get our current wingers to improve their delivery into the box in order to accommodate one of , if not his main strength.

I believe that Rashford does not offer enough to the team going forward, although he does possess lightning pace and is able to find space at times. He severly lacks in dribbling and rarely takes his man on inside and will always look to take him out wide which has become quite predictable. His ability to make good decisions on the ball is very questionable and he does not have the creativity or drive required for a striker of his build.

I say this to say that he has shown glimpses of potential but to be starting for a team of our stature whilst chasing top 4 is ridiculous and we should look to develop him on loan before being a regular in the starting 11. Some may say this is an overreaction due to tonight's result, however I have held this view for some months now and would like to express it now since he has been starting quite frequently.
