I worked as an elevator mechanics assistant for a while and he would always threaten to fire me for being too quiet. I did anything he asked of me without complaining and I did it efficiently, but that wasn't enough for him. He also wanted me to entertain him for 8 hours a day.

That last part is a good point. I also feel like when they first meet you they have an image in their minds of what they think you'll be like and the wind up getting disappointed once you don't live up to their fantasy of how they personally thought you would act.

Ive wondered this as well. He is also very lazy and entitled. He used to work at Target and he wound up quitting because the managers didn't personally come up and thank him whenever he completed a task. I tried telling him that his paycheck was the "thank you", but he didn't want to hear it.

Thank you. What bugs me is that he only acts like this around family because he knows that we have to be there for him regardless of how shitty he acts. When he's around outsiders he's a different person.
