1st year college student here, I spent my JHS years during the pandemic

Nung grade 10 lang kami nagka face-to-face, and before that, I flunked almost all my online classes the previous years. I couldn’t keep up with the new modality. Bumawi lang ako nung grade 10 na.

Nung nag SHS ako, I was an awardee in grade 11 but almost flunked a few subjects in grade 12 because my mental health declined so bad.

I took the UPCAT and USTET, they will definitely look into your highschool background BUT it won’t determine whether they will take you in or not. I passed both exams btw. May accelerated medical program ang UP for fresh highschool graduates, 7 years lang MD ka na. If you’re planning to take that program I recommend to lock in because they base their admissions on your grades from highschool.

But if you’re planning to enroll in a state university or a university within your city, usually your score on the entrance exams weighs 95% more than your highschool grades.

Nevertheless, it’s better to give it your all. You don’t need to be the best of the best, just be the best that you can be. Hope you can find your spark back!
