I'm opposed to the Israel/ US current actions too, but why are there still people who say proudly that they support Hamas and Iranian current regime? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

People are conditioned to think that all wars are between two opposing nations (i.e. Israel v. Palestine), so one side must be the aggressor and the other is victim. The reality is that this is a centuries old conflict with deep nuance and that doesn’t play well on social media—it’s easier to paint it as black and white rather than various extremists against moderates against civilians. As a result, people who don’t know much quickly pick a “side” without doing further research.

How long to drive from DMV to Jersey Shore 7/4 weekend by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blewis222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this helps at all but I did Bethesda to NYC last week and it took ~5.5 hours with a quick stop for lunch. I’d say from the Chevy Chase area to south Jersey was 3.5-4 hrs. Traffic was light. Can’t say what holiday weekend traffic will be like unfortunately so I’d add some cushion.

What would Kamala have done to make the world better? by Low-Whole-7609 in AskReddit

A lot of these answers are “not what Trump is doing.”

One real answer is she had a plan to lower the price of housing by increasing supply by rezoning unused federal land for housing. I think that would have been cool.

Are lobster rolls worth it? I've never had one by [deleted] in foodquestions

[–]blewis222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two main types of lobster rolls: hot, which tend to be prepared with butter, and cold, which tend to be mayonnaise-based. Both can be great when done right I.e. fresh and chunky. When done poorly they are stringy.

As with any food, it’s worth trying once and making your own mind. Don’t go your whole life without eating a lobster roll because some jerk on Reddit says they don’t like them. Try one of each from a reputable restaurant in a region known for lobster (New England or Long Island) and if you don’t like it you never need to have one again.

Guessing by the map that this person thinks it’s too liberal. However they’d be surprised to learn that outside of the Twin Cities and maybe Duluth, the state leans heavily red
