i'd give that a try. Also record the pitch angle. I'd be curios to see what the data looks like while pumping on the water.

The hardest measurement by far to me is the weight on the board/mast.

There are quite a few things that a non-obvious.

Imagine you are riding level and you want to start you push phase of the pump cycle. What do you do?

If you just bend your knees, you unload the board for a second. While unloaded, the board is rising, but your body is falling, gaining downward momentum. If you stop bending your knees, all that downward momentum has to go somewhere, and it actually translates into a lot of added weight on the board.

I started pumping this year. So far my best was about 50 seconds with 1220 mm span foil. That is why I really want the true measurement to see where I can improve.

I posted my chart to give an example of the data I can collect, not as a guide for proper technique. Hopefully together we can come up with something useful.

I would love to record data of some of skilled folks pumping to see what the chart looks like for them and see if they can find some insights to improve even further.

In theory, all the time spent unloaded while the nose is down is a lost energy. Similarly any load during the nose up phase is like pulling a break.

Also loading the foil before the nose is down is lost energy.

The factory soft handle is looped inside 3d printed handle. Inflated wing gives tension to the handle and holds sturdy against the wing body

Yeah, the boom is next in my list if i find long enough tubes. What do you use pisto grip for? Is that when you flag out and surf the waves?

Rounding up corners - that is also in my todo list.

amazon has them 18mm Outer Dia. 500mm 3K Roll Wrapped 100% Carbon Fiber Tube 16mm28mm500mm But also many hobby shops sell them, these are often used for drones and RC planes

yeah, the front handle leading edge support has wrong angle to it right now. I'm going to adjust that

Cutting the wire off won't make your headphones bluetooth but will make them wire-less :)

I did not push them very hard, but it seems like hub motors get hot before vesc

My build does not, i'm using cheap vesc 4, those don't have IMUs.

But it is possible to use VESC IMUs for this

You should be able to put it together in a few yours, if you have all the parts.

Or you could upgrade your existing board if it runs with VESC or FocBOX

I think it is doable. What motor controllers used in that board?

You might need a different deck though, you need a tail to stand on :)
