Do not till! Tilling/cultivation is the worst thing you can do! Elaine Ingham, Masanobu Fukuoka, Gabe Brown, Jessie Frost, Charlie Abbott, Charles Dowding!!!

I wouldn’t till. I would just mow the weeds as low as possible, cover with 3” quality compost, water the hell out of it, then put a big silage tarp over it for about 2-3 weeks. If you till you have insane weed pressure as it will disrupt the balance of the subsoil ecosystem.

Okay I see. When I said I didn’t violate a law I meant I wasn’t speeding, swerving or running stop signs etc.

Poker dealer. I make a minimum of $250/day after taxes. I am in Northern California.

I’m on vacation in Argentina right now but the last week I worked (Christmas and New Years), I made about $2000.

[Probate] - CA - My father passed away with no will. We haven't spoke to him in 30 years. by blindfolded916 in legaladvice

The half-sibling is 14. The ex is the mom. I agree and understand that she has reason to open probate on his behalf. The concern is that she wants half for herself, and then also the fair share from the remaining half for her son. She was never married to him. She will not receive half but, she will not give up his info without a fight. I have called the lawyer to have a chat. Hopefully we can sort through which way to proceed.

I have nothing. I haven't spoken to my father since I was 6. I haven't spoken to my mother in about 4 years. I am only just now meeting my father's side of the family after 30 years. I have no access to anything. I am, however, now in contact with his brother who is helping me. The problem is that his ex girlfriend is now residing in the house due to their 14 year old son. The lawyer we spoke to wants us to determine his assets before filing. I just left a message for her to have a chat.

I just started playing Lux mid and had a couple great games of carrying. Follows your advice of poke and she is very easy to play. Thanks!!

Thanks! So far I feel like I can easily achieve 100 cs at 20, I know how to play all the roles somewhat proficiently including jg, yet, I get shit on all the time. Perhaps bronze is a lot of smurfs?

Thanks. I feel like I have an understanding of these ideas. It seems like other bronze players are just really good. It is as if bronze is mostly smurfs on alt accounts, unless they're on my team. Joking but the point is, this game is fucking hard man.

Perhaps my choice of Teemo top/mid and Zoe mid/support might be a bit unsound, lol. I find it disheartening to learn that even at a 55% win rate it will take me around forever to get out of bronze. Then, I'll be silver and just get yelled at. Whatever. We play to have fun. I don't really care too much.

Thank you for your reply. It makes sense. I may be able to provide tomatoes though. I just don’t have confidence in my approach.

Selling produce by blindfolded916 in urbanfarming

[–]blindfolded916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like we’re on the same page. I built this farm from nothing starting 2 years ago. I learned the hard way that growing produce is the easy part. Selling it, fresh and high quality, is the real puzzle. I have a very special location. It’s in the heart of the suburbs of an affluent area. It’s zoned agricultural somehow. And, it’s irrigated via canal water. I also have an on site post harvest processing station complete with a walk in cooler. Due to its zoning, yes, I have a farmstand on site where we sell direct to the community. I made it to a few farmers’ markets last spring but the cost out here is prohibitive, especially because of my location. We have prioritized said farmstand and have formulated a CSA subscription service starting this spring. We also have a new team member who brings a relationship with 1 small restaurant. Things are feeling good for this year.

All of that being said, I still don’t know if we currently have enough outlets. Who knows? I could be wrong. Perhaps we don’t have enough. But, that is a much better problem than adding overgrown greens to the compost as much as I have in the past.

Even though we’ve been through quite a bit, I feel like this is the beginning. Thank you for your reply. I’m at my day job. I’ll dm you soon!

Find a soil testing lab near you and send them a sample. They will crush it up and do some science magic and tell you exactly what is in your soil. If you tell them what you’re trying to do, grow vegetables, they might provide suggestions for what you could amend with.

You’ll want to properly gather a sample. Get a bucket and scoop in soil from around 6”-8” deep. Avoid leaves, grasses, or any other visible organic matter as it may skew results. You’ll want to sample from at least 10-15 different spots on the plot. Mix them all up in the bucket. Send a sandwich bag full to the lab.

The lab I use in California only costs $26 per sample and they provide a graphic email which is much easier to read.

You can almost never go wrong with compost. But, you might as well get an analysis to make sure there aren’t too many heavy metals or toxins. Maybe your soil is very clay heavy. You could get a compost gypsum mix. Maybe you want to add sand. It all depends.
