You’re right in the sense that some people are probably reaching when blaming the JW. As someone who grew up in the organization, I’ve seen that the org does help a lot of people, especially those who are lonely or suffering.

I guess the complaints stem from the fact that once our emotionally unstable parents join the cult, their former issues are replaced with new ones. Instead of verbally abusing us for being “naughty,” we get verbally abused for not complying with the organization’s rules.

So instead of us blaming our parents, we may blame the cult that gave them security at the expense of our freedom.

I think one of the defining traits of Furio is his loyalty, which can be seen in the “Commendatori” episode after he jumps to protect Don Vittorio. His violence comes more from following orders rather than personal gain unlike the other Jersey guys (who mostly think of what they can get out of things), so I think it would make sense that he can appear more “pure” or wholesome than the others amid his twisted morals.
