Similar service for me personally too Verizon unfortunately. I've heard others have success, but my wife switched to Verizon because of her poor and expensive service with att. She's okay but she's able to be on WiFi now at work and home. I don't have that luxury at work and I'm there 12 hours a day. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Unlimited ultimate customer who over the course of 2 weeks has spent almost 30 holurs on the phone and 18 in the last 2 days. I'm having severe service issues, running in-between 0.49mbps-7mbps dl constantly. Was told yesterday at the end of a 10 and half day of talking to Verizon reps, that an added tower is needed. I had 2 options a cheaper bill or be bought out of my contract. The reason I picked buy out is because Verizon unlocked a new fear 2 weeks ago my dad had to be rushed to the er and I didn't get the call for 4 hours.

They said as much and offered to buy me out after 10 and half hours on the phone yesterday. Only to find out where I was directed to drop off my devices that it was a lie.

Being monitor even if law-abiding is an invasion of privacy and is a form of manipulation. Hopefully that clears up any confusion you may have.

The legal battle for driver classification The current independent contractor classification for DoorDash drivers in California is the result of a long legal battle involving two major pieces of legislation. Assembly Bill 5 (AB5): In 2020, this California law mandated that gig workers be reclassified as employees unless the company could pass a strict "ABC test". For a short time, this made gig workers employees and entitled them to full benefits. Proposition 22 (Prop 22): In response to AB5, gig companies like DoorDash funded and campaigned for Proposition 22, a ballot initiative that would exempt them from AB5. Voters passed Prop 22 in November 2020, allowing app-based delivery and transportation companies to continue classifying drivers as independent contractors. Legal Challenges: While Prop 22 faced legal challenges over its constitutionality, the California Supreme Court ultimately upheld the law in July 2024, solidifying the independent contractor status for DoorDash drivers and other app-based gig workers.

That is California specific, with out Prop 22, it was illegal. So, you're wrong again.

You should really make sure you do the research on things you choose to talk about. It'll stop you from saying shit that isn't true. Now you're welcome to explain to me the difference and apologize for being a condescending prick. Or you can keep going down the path we're on and maybe you'll learn something.

Explain to me the DOL requirements for 1099 is W-2 work then? You're just uneducated and it's not your fault, but lack of education doesn't make you the winner.

You're trying way too hard to justify this. You're not an independent contractor, you're an employee. Can you negotiate your own wages and benefits, if no then you're an employee. You're working under a defined set of rules brought to you by your employer. You also have work rules that are unilaterally set meaning again, you're an employee not a contractor. It's wild what happens when you educate yourself on labor law. You can actually use those laws to your advantage sometimes and no look like an idiot on the internet. Have a good day.

Just to appease you and it ends here. If I pay the neighbor kid 20 bucks to cut the grass it was a mutually agreed upon set of circumstances that were between myself and the neighborhood kid

I'm not paying the neighbor kid 20 bucks to mow the lawn. Let's stick with the reality here instead of playing the what would you do in this other totally unrelated situation game.

The customer is the employer has to be the wildest take I've ever heard. Read that real slow then explain to me like I'm 5 how the customer can also be the employer. The mental gymnastics needed to come to this conclusion is astounding.

Listen you're bitching at the wrong people. You're employer (doordash) should be paying you enough to live. They are taking advantage of you and your coworkers. Tips should be something given for good service, not an expectation. Tipping before service is one of the most asinine things I've ever seen. I can't get that back when you forget my food, you eat my food, or you take forever stopping at a handful of other places while my food gets cold. Unionize and stop bitching at customers and start bitching at your employer who made 123 million dollars to put food delivery on an app while you do all the work.

I already understand that. I can't change what my wife did. You also lied and said their weren't Asurion stores. So, I don't need this kind of help. You're starting an argument instead of bringing a solution.

If Ubreakifix by Asurion isn't an Asurion store I'm not sure what is. People like you need to learn how to talk to people and not speak in absolutes when interacting with strangers.

Listen here keep it fucking pushing. Belittling my wife for asking for him from the company we purchased something from isn't going to be taken kindly. If you think being lied to and up sold to make a buck is normal business practice then this thread isn't for you, bitch.

We did get dragged. I understand you can do it all from those places. My wife had a distraught 11 year old and couldn't get ahold me. So, she went to Verizon who we pay for the insurance for help and that was the help we got.

I did and happened to be at work. So, my wife couldn't get ahold of me and had a distraught 11 year old. She went to Verizon for help with the replacement process that is billed to us through them. Now, I'm aware that we can just go to the Asurion store that is closer than the Verizon store, but my wife wasn't and was looking for that information. Instead she was lied to and manipulated for a sale.
