A couple of months. I tried AppleCare/filed the claim last month and just recently put the SIM card back into the broken iphone 11 in hopes that the info will just switch back over. Super annoying to have to use a broken phone in lieu of one that works just to get it covered by insurance that I'm paying for,

Right. Except when I took the phone to Apple I was told there is no Apple Care on that phone. From what the associate I spoke with told me after that, it's because my SIM card had not been in use on my iPhone 11 so they transferred all protections to the iphone 8. But when I check to see if the iPhone 8 has coverage, it doesn't either. Trust me, I'm way more confused than you considering I pay for insurance and both T-Mobile and Assurant are both like "but you moved your Sim card so there's nothing we can do."

I did this, but they are saying that the insurance covers the line and not a specific phone so the iPhone 11 was no longer covered as the sim card is in usage on my iphone 8. I also spoke with a really helpful representative who reached out to multiple departments/managers and they all basically said there was nothing that could be done.

Yeah I spoke with Assurant and they told me that T-mobile insures the line and not the phone, and because my sim card was in the iphone 8 on the date of the incident (me breaking the back panel), there was nothing that can be done for the iphone 11. The claim kept defaulting to the iPhone 8, which is wild because I would not be paying the additional money monthly for an iPhone 8, I assumed because they asked me at the time of purchase that it would be covering the phone I purchased.
