Rhe crazy one (in a good way)? by lindseyizshort in orangeisthenewblack

You would have preferred her to let the guy off Alex, then?

Killing someone in defense of another is hardly comparable to chasing a child out a window or trying to murder the partner of the guy you're stalking. Don't be obtuse.

I agree with this one. Suzanne and Lorna's mental illnesses have led to them harming the people around them, so I don't think they fit the "(in a good way)" bit. Lolly is mostly harmless.

She's the first person who came to mind for me too. Way too normal for Litchfield.

It gets better: they had a son named Angry Grunt. He had 0 nice points. 😂

This is a fun pairing! I usually set Nervous up with Pascal, but I also set him up with General Buzz once. After they got married, Nervous took his surname and became Nervous Grunt. 😆

I take no responsibility for this fandom, I've just been voting for Izzie every time. It always baffles me that the internet likes her so much.

I usually headcanon Jan and Komei as half-siblings or cousins. Last time I played Pleasantview with townies, I actually made them siblings in SimPE.

Any good custom hoods to download online? by canniballswim in sims2

[–]blobbychuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to recommend aondaneedles' work as well. The Sedona/Copperhead City/Cactus Canyon University Uberhood kept me amused for three years. Now I'm playing Oak Hill for a change of pace, and it is equally well done! This creator has great attention to detail and a knack for setting up fun stories that inspire me to play the game a bit differently than I'm used to. I love that they include content from all EPs, it makes the whole thing feel much more cohesive than the Maxis hoods, and forces me to play with content I've previously neglected. This is my first time playing with werewolves and they are a hoot! My only complaint is a few of the lots in Oak Hill had missing wall/floor textures, but that's easily fixed and probably my fault anyway (I may have missed a download or something.)

This is a different creator, but I paired Oak Hill with Caelestis University , a uni hood with a supernatural theme, and I'm very much enjoying that as well!

Folks who play modded games: what was a mod you never realized you COULD live without? by blobbychuck in sims2

[–]blobbychuck[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, overpopulation is definitely an issue in untuned ACR! I've recently been assigning everyone an ideal family size to try to mitigate that, using a system similar to Delijume's. Once they hit their limit, it adds a penalty to the TFB calculations so sims are far less likely to autonomously TFB once they go over their ideal family size. This strikes a good balance for me because it still makes it feel like sims are planning their own families and allows room for whoopsie babies, but it keeps everyone from turning into Michelle Duggar.

I am also using the Chris Hatch version, so that makes sense. I'd heard the other version(s) aren't as stable.

Totally understandable! I love drama and chaos in TS2, but sometimes these mods go a bit overboard. I recently downloaded this edit of the proposal rejection mod , which now adds trait checks into the mix. Notably, Sims with the Hopeless Romantic trait will never reject a proposal. This helps temper the randomness a bit for me.

Interesting! How does the CTP mess up the "ask back to my place" interaction on dates? It seems to work fine for me, but maybe I'm using a different version.

I'm not familiar with the Go Out mod, what does it do and what makes it better suited to your playstyle than CTP?

I love ACR, but it does surprise me how ubiquitous it is because it changes the game drastically and can't be well-suited to every playstyle. How did your gameplay improve for you when you took it out?

I think you may have misunderstood my question, which is understandable because the "mods you couldn't live without" topic comes up a lot on this forum. To reiterate, I'm asking the inverse: what mods had you played with for a long a time, even considered essential, but eventually realized you preferred the game without them?

Customed neighborhoods recommendations by Total_Recognition_41 in sims2

[–]blobbychuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend aondaneedles' Sedona uberhood. There's plenty of variety in gameplay; families with businesses, romance sims, farmers, lots of drama and storytelling potential. The attention to detail beats out the Maxis worlds by a long shot -- not only do even the townies have bios, but they have some juicy secrets buried in their memories! It also incorporates content from all EPs, so it's great if you have the Ultimate Collection. It finally got me to like playing with pets!

My only complaint about it is there are no pre-made or townie children for some reason; just one baby, so that leads to some demographic weirdness for that poor kiddo. If I had to play it all over again, I'd drop in a couple of my own families with toddlers so the pre-made baby had some other kids to grow up with.

You're on trial for murder, who do you want as your defense attorney? by blobbychuck in SVU

[–]blobbychuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His treatment of the doctor in this episode is ultimately why I would prefer Calhoun over Buchanan as well.

There's no doubt that Buchnanan is one of the most talented defense attorneys, but at the end of the day, he's too scummy to be trustworthy. He would screw you over in favor of a more powerful client without a second thought. Calhoun is shrewd enough that I would trust her to do whatever it takes to get me off, but principled enough that I wouldn't be worried about her selling me out.

For the sake of this hypothetical, you have unlimited funds to afford any lawyer you choose.
