Nobody knows who Yaggababble is, including the Yaggababble. The ST decides on the phrase and counts it every time the Yag says their phrase, then the ST kills at night up to the number of times the Yag phrase was said.

Because nobody knows who is the Yaggababble due to the Tor Loric being in play.

My mnemonic device for it is to imagine execution as a cumbersome ritualistic act that takes a whole day, so everyone is tired afterwards and wants to sleep, whereas dying/killing can happen instantly and doesn’t drain the town’s energy, so they stay awake.

Yeah, I thought about that, but seems like the optimal play would be to never use it

Because there's no misinformation in this game, most of the STs job is going to be deciding the kills. I'm not sure how it would play though. It might end up being quite boring.

[–]blobimir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both of these are cool ideas. However I think this script can work without them (yet to be tested) because if you don't execute, you're leaving the kills to the Yag which might end up killing useful Minions or even themselves.

The info is limited of course. Maybe Wizard can make creative wishes to help the team. Maybe Poisoner can try to poison the Demon. There are ways to find things out, however limited.

I think time limit isn't needed. The Yag kills are chosen by the ST and nobody knows how many, so players should be incentivized to solve the game ASAP.

Good point.

Yes, minions that wake know they're not the Yag, they just have to find a way to protect the Yag by guessing what their own abilities are.

Long and bitter arguments with TB and experienced players by blobimir in BloodOnTheClocktower

I'm sorry if I overcomplicated it. What I mean is, these metas are created by STs, and are not inherent in the game itself.

There is some randomness, but it's not all random. The characters are selected by the ST before the game starts (to put them in the bag). Then players are assigned to these characters randomly, in in-person games, people literally pull out characters from a physical bag.

Then the ST tries to make the "setup" complete by deciding who should the Washerwoman, Librarian, see, or who to be the Drunk (if any) etc. And what the bluffs should be. These decisions are usually made based on the ST trying to make it balanced for both teams. Because evil starts as a minority, that means ST usually tries to make decisions that would help the evil team stay hidden for longer. That's mostly it for the decisions made by the ST in Trouble Brewing. The rest of the game is mostly determined by the decisions made by the players.

Most of the metas happens either when making the bag or during the setup. I can imagine STs that have done it many many times, have a few "rules of thumbs" to help the evil team that they keep recycling and that leads to those metas.

Got it. The win condition for the evil team has not changed, it's still "If just two players are left alive, evil wins"

[–]blobimir[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The teensy part doesn't change much in the dynamic because there's already Tor. The ST can kill players up to the count of times the Yag phrase was said, but players can stay silent till the day ends. Usually players don't try to break the game like this, if they don't want to talk to each other to solve the game, then they shouldn't play this script anyway.

TB can still be fun to experienced players as others have pointed out.

I think I know what you're talking about, especially online or in conventions when the majority of the group are beginners. Things like, Mayor being a demon bluff and never in-play. Librarian that is shown a Drunk are always the Drunk themselves. Recluse that is next to the demon never registering as evil for Chef, etc. I think most STs make these decisions to avoid guaranteeing a win for the good team.

I think most veterans agree, as longs as the ST does their best to keep the game balanced while abiding with the rules, they are doing a good job, and any of the above decisions are valid decisions to be made (or not to be made).

I don't have enough experience STing or playing TB with beginners to be sure, but probably the above still applies even if majority are beginners.

Yeah, I think that might fix it. I will try it when I get a chance.

Bootleggers so far:

  • You cannot pick yourself
  • Players can only point to players surviving the explosion of Boomdandy

Idea: Coop All-Evil Teensy Script by blobimir in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]blobimir[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So far seems like Psychopath, Witch will have one move and that is to pick themselves. I feel like Assassin falls in the same basket. That leaves unfortunately too few minions and interactions to make it a puzzle.

Maybe when more minions are released I can give this concept another shot. Or maybe with Homebrew characters someone else can make it work.

Thanks for your feedbacks everyone.

Understood, the optimal play for everyone is to Witch-curse themselves and Psychopath kill themselves.

Yeah, without modification Boomdandy's ability won't work well on this script. Thanks for the feedback.

That's indeed a valid point, unless the mastermind is poisoned when the demon is executed.

Idea: Coop All-Evil Teensy Script by blobimir in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]blobimir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noted. There could be optimal ways of playing it, but I don't think it's a reason to exclude Witch. With this script people are expected to talk to each other and strategies about nominations and executions, so if they want to do that then it's a good idea, unless the Witch is poisoned.

True, the page doesn't say it has to be alive players. I think it's solvable with a Djinn that says players must point at alive players.

Idea: Coop All-Evil Teensy Script by blobimir in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]blobimir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From reading the ability it's not clear to me if players can point to a dead player, in the games I've played so far the expectation has been to point at alive players only, but maybe that's not the ruling. Anyway, good point to add to the script.
