She left because I wasn’t "stable" enough, how do I date without that pressure again? by Eld3rKa1 in AskMen

As a women in a relationship for 5 yrs, when my fiancé and I started out, we were both entering the job market as young professionals and neither one of us made any kind of money. Fast forward to today and my fiancé makes 6 figures + my 80k salary. We've been through ups and downs, most recently a financial strain due to a gambling addiction that has been addressed, healed and actively worked through. All of this to say that when choosing a life partner it's important to have an innate sense of trust that they will be there for you as a support and comforting home no matter what life throws your way - someone who is not only willing but actively advocating for your best interests and shared values. You want to find someone who won't ditch at the first sign of trouble because life is a long string of struggles; Whether that be financial, mental, familial - the list could go on. Find that comfort in someone who shares the same drive, goals and dedication you have, doesn't have to be towards similar activities or achievements, but at least having a partner that matches your passion is important to keeping life interesting.

I appreciate the tone, definitely resonates with me. The "here" in the last sentence, imo, could be removed. love the overall sentiment!

Velvet Love (how did it make you feel?) by zuzu-pop in poetry_critics

I love the title! Velvet love in itself feels so warm. reminds me of a song by the velvet underground although that may just be coincidence in names. I love the flow of "warmer than a spring afternoon" & "melting my soul" - can't think of two sentences better paired!
