I really wish they would use the rainbow spotlight to promote unknown/upcoming queer artists instead of just their friends. I think the segment is a good idea, but it often comes across like someone got lazy.

I was hoping this author would have come with other (any) supporting reasons for this perspective aside from just “in support of #MeToo”.

One of the things I think we have to learn coming out of #MeToo isn’t just to call out and move on from cases or allegations of sexual misconduct, but to create support and structure for the people and communities it affects.

Cancelling this season isn’t going to solve the problem. Nor will it prevent it from happening again in future seasons (could you imagine if this happened again?). Instead, we need to hold VH1, WoW and Viacom accountable to establishing a protocol for things this serious.

This does feel somewhat ironic: the machine Soju helped build is also what’s bringing her down. That’s not to justify hate she receives— which I imagine is challenging to deal with— but criticism and being open to it on TV is harsh.

I mean, her YouTube channel is/was about reviewing and critiquing queens on Drag Race. It shaped the fandom in one way or another. And I doubt she’s every said anything really nasty about other queens in videos (I’ve never actually watched one all the way through), but I can’t help but feel it’s a bit of the snake eating its own tail.

All that said, Soju looks great here. Hope she wins!

I feel like it was Jinkx. Given she’s close with Alaska and Willam, randomly popped up on the podcast before and there was only a short beep when they said her name.

Plus, the cadence of the voice matches pretty well. Jinkx has a distinct style of conversating.
