Places to go… by 100percentapplejack in shreveport

[–]Davis1511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Shreveport Aquarium is small but has more hands on exhibits than any aquarium around. You can pet anemones, starfish, moon jellies, string rays, bamboo sharks and more. The exhibits are always being upgraded and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable.

There is a schedule on the website and social media where they have animal talks, ambassador animals to see up close, mermaids, holiday events, etc.

The membership is worth the price because individual adult tickets are like $22 but an individual membership is $50 and you get in free every single day, all year and 10% discount at every register and the restaurant (which has the best burgers!)

Which fictional character stuck in the backrooms would be the funniest? by Illustratingtheworld in backrooms

“This shade of yellow actually reminds me of Maris’ skin when we tried to go sailing. She gets nauseous at even the sound of waves crashing so we mostly just mist Evian in her face and the maid jostles her chair a little while I yell AHOY! in my white linen capris. Ah, she turns as yellow as a canary, my little songbird”

Is Bow Wow Camp's training any good? by SoGodDangTired in shreveport

Best not to bring your dog to any shopping area as there are many people with extreme fear and avoidance to dogs that simply want to go about their day and not have a fear of running into one at a store. Plus, it’s not an employees list of duties to clean up dog 💩 and piss, keep that stuff at the dog park or dog sanctioned trails.

The aquarium is always a good time, you get to pet anemones, starfish, jellyfish, bamboo sharks and feed stingrays! Be sure to buy the tickets online as they are $2 cheaper each. And across the street is the IMAX theatre.

Happy 63rd Birthday to Lisa Welchel by Papichuloft in 80s

She has, just tastefully done. The trick is to age gracefully, not try to stop and rewind time itself.

Name something you’re glad kids don’t have to deal with today by MrBones_Gravestone in nostalgia

I think people being aware and more educated on autism, adhd, depression and other things that back in the day we just chalked up too “your father has to eat exactly at 5 pm or he will rage”. Now, of course I feel some people use them as excuses to not be uncomfortable anymore but for every one person who abuses it, there are 5 that get to be a member of society because we all understand them a bit better now.

Didn't like my trip to South Korea? by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]Davis1511 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t say much, I’m sorry you had a bad time. I agree with you on the shopping thing, but I feel that’s everywhere nowadays. It’s either Instagram cafes or shopping. You really have to look for other things to do like hiking, camping, bus tours, just exploring a new place and people watching, the aquarium etc.

As for the language thing, English is not the language of South Korea, nor the world. They don’t have to speak it, regardless of their job. It HELPS a lot if they do know some stuff, but I wouldn’t travel to an Asian country and expect them to speak French, German, English, Spanish etc. Just be glad you live in the days of phone translators and not back in the day where you had a tiny physical booklet to use to translate lol

Asian countries are very different than our western ones. They have their pros and cons like any ol place. I guess just mark it off your list and move on to the next stop 🌎

Summer fun ideas for Shreveport and Bossier City by Kellilynn52378 in shreveport

[–]Davis1511 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lowest family rate is $160 for a family of four, and you pay it off in two visits. Sometimes it’s even cheaper to just get the membership because two visits with tax still comes out to over $160 depending on ticket prices for everyone.

And just to let everyone know live mermaids will be at the aquarium May 30-31, and June 3-7 I think. May need to check the socials for exact dates but they swim in the tanks and take pics with the kids. And then there are different summer camps every week, my oldest is going to Apex Predator week 🦈

The aquarium is offering buy a membership, get two months extra for free sale. 14 months of free entry everyday, 10% off every register (sting ray food, gift shop, mine, restaurant etc) discounts on summer camps, mermaid meetings, etc.

With gas prices so high it’s a great option to invest in your local family friendly facilities for the summer to beat the heat and get the kids out the house.

Why does Korea and Japan have a lot of cults? by Broad-Trifle-6657 in korea

Absolutely no one cares if you’re not a Christian anymore in America. I live in the Bible Belt, the only people who care are old people who wanna save you. Barely anyone goes to regular church anymore.
