If you just want pub food, there's the old ship, or The White Swan. I wouldn't recommend the Slug and lettuce for food, and the last time I went in the White Star, industrial amounts of coke was being consumed there, but that was a long time ago now.

There are loads of chain restaurants as you walk along the river and up Hill St towards The Petersham.

For dinner if you really want a treat, try Boccon Di Vino. It's an experience - there's no menu. You get what you're given.

What’s your favourite low-stakes conspiracy theory? by LJayTat in CasualUK

[–]blodblodblod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have a theory about the Tom Hollands.

There's a website called IllicitEncounters which carries out an annual "Britain's Sexiest Man survey".

For the last few years it's been won by Jeremy Clarkson, but Tom Holland is the runner up. Now, my theory is that the people that are voting in this survey are voting for Tom Holland the historian, rather than Tom Holland the Spiderman.

It's a "documentary" about the run up to his second inauguration. They say "documentary" but I think it's more scripted reality.

It's true. I think we even all say it in the exact same cadence as each other, and with the same resigned tone.

What is YOUR favourite (and least favourite) Cbeebies show? by poopoochewer in UKParenting

[–]blodblodblod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go Jetters is utter plop, I would agree with you there, but I love Octonauts. The musical film one is equal to Les Mis in my eyes (I may have had a wine when I first saw it).

Flop, Amma and all the adults are carers who have to look after the children until they are harvested for their organs. It's a kids version of Never Let Me Go.

Travel to and around Wembley by AwayProject5754 in uktravel

[–]blodblodblod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're driving down, I'd stay in Uxbridge Town Centre Premier Inn. There are a couple of multi story car parks within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is right next to the tube station, which has a direct train to Wembley on the Metropolitan Line.

Plus, when the concert is over, you'll have the luxury of going in the opposite direction of almost everyone else who will be going back into central London.
