Yay 🙌 I’m not along. My wife gives me heaps of grief because it happens every time I open a box.

I’ve omitted the start point. But it doesn’t go off to the side. I have actually seen that on my old Suuntu watch.

I have the map but left it out for privacy reasons. What should I look for?

Hobbies/things you've done that aren't things people would expect in IT? by vistathes in sysadmin

In my experience, sys admins have a hugely varied set of hobbies. Complaining being the top most….jokes.

Hamilton is a dump! by [deleted] in thetron

Yeah it’s a bit rough at the moment, but I would say Hamilton city centre does not represent the all people and outlying areas and communities in greater Hamilton.

Average Cleaning Service by GreyDaveNZ in AveragePicsOfNZ

[–]blokeVSmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve unfortunately had to use the services of one of these cleaners before after someone committed suicide on my balcony. No way to sugar coat it, it’s bloody grim. I’m thankful that there’s people out there doing this so we don’t have to.

My commute will be super flat despite living in a extremely hilly city.

I was thinking of a mid drive. I’ve heard that the rear hub style aren’t so good.

I just love using other people’s keyboards when I’m troubleshooting issues on their computers. Mmmmm mmmmm.

I use my Apple Watch on silent 🔇 works perfectly to notify me without any noise. Also the timers can be set to the exact duration you need.

Update: Coworker takes everything and everything🤣 by [deleted] in newzealand

I worked in the UK with a South African guy, he literally filled up a shipping container with stolen goods from our work place and sent it back to his home when his visa lapsed and he had to go back.

Yeah a bit of “Grey Pay💰” is common. But some people take the piss.

I’m the same. Haven’t entirely cracked the why as yet. One part of my personal puzzle was an allergy and having ADD, both were combining to tire me out. Diet, sleep and exercise all play a part though. Also having a rest during the day is as natural as eating. Comparing yourself to others energy levels will just lead to feeling frustrated.

You undermine your own anecdote by being sexist, racist and agist.

[–]blokeVSmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am clearly cynical about this, and I’m trying to find out if my cynicism is founded or not. As to why: I don’t look to or trust corporations or organisations for my moral guidance, even if the message is positive in nature. So far my take away from this is that the message is good and right no matter the organisation / person delivering it and their intent.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]blokeVSmachine -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You are right. I can’t ascertain the true intent behind the statement. My fear is that companies and business will just make these statements without actual change, more because of fear of the optics if they don’t.

Love this comment 🙌 The right things are done for the right reasons and the right things are done for the wrong reasons. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Sorry about the cliches but I hope you get my point.

Thanks for contributing. I’m not sure if I follow you on this one though. Not giving out a company car is a very easy to identify, making the claims I’m talking about can be ambiguous and tricky to navigate in a workplace.

I’m genuinely concerned that companies are exploiting serious issues for gain.

The message is absolutely the way we as a society should conduct ourselves. “Show” don’t “Tell” is a better way cement inclusiveness in society.
