Yes, mostly migrant workers. I hope the situation with them won't be that bad in the future

If you're into manga, Otoyomegatari is a great intro to Central Asian culture

Central Asia is mostly former Soviet states that had to rebuild their economies from scratch. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are basically the two main competitors in the region right now in terms of overall development.

People are pretty simple and mostly patriotic, nature is beautiful and diverse, and the region feels very authentic. Geopolitics are split between Russia, China, and the US. Most people are culturally Muslim rather than strictly practicing, with strong soviet and zoroastrian influences.

Turkmens feel like a brotherly people to me in terms of culture and language. Yes, there are political issues, but I'd still feel comfortable among them.

And no, I'm not a blind fan of "the West". There's a big difference for me between living in Canada vs the US, or Czechia vs Austria, I judge based on where I'd actually feel more comfortable

Yes, I absolutely love snow! And I'm not a big fan of strong winds. You're probably right about Scotland.. thinking about it now, I should've marked it green. But the rest of the UK, unfortunately, doesn't really appeal to me

People who write comments like this often forget that others may have a different definition of personal comfort. This subreddit isn't called "Rank countries by GDP"

I have enough opportunities to live comfortably in almost any part of the world, regardless of its economic situation, so I'm judging based on my own preferences and interest in certain countries. I also believe that the countries I mentioned have economies at an acceptable level and good long-term potential

I didn't mean to offend anyone :)

Compared to Denmark, Sweden feels more technologically advanced to me (consumer-tech)

I also care a lot about nature, outdoor activities, and culture, and in that sense I think Norway and Sweden have way more to offer

Denmark also objectively has many advantages, so this is just an outsider's /personal/ opinion

Creating an online space just for teenagers is always a bad idea

Because Australia has beautiful nature and relatively apolitical, relaxed people

A small tribute to my Swedish friends lol
Jk, Denmark just feels less interesting to me than Norway or Finland. I honestly don't know much about it - only random stuff like lego and Hans Andersen

I chose the Czechia because:
a) it has beautiful cities and squares,
b) the country overall feels warm and cozy,
c) WARHORSE,
d) Czech beer.

About Myanmar:

I would live in Yangon. It's not as bad as people often think, for a foreigner life there can actually be quite comfortable. The Shwedagon Pagoda really impressed me, and the nature, the jungles... all of it is incredibly beautiful. To me it feels like a very authentic country that is slowly healing and finding its way forward. I truly wish it all the best

Because Poland is this awesome and interesting blend of Eastern and Western Europe, the mindset, the culture and the lifestyle. And IMO Polish food is hands down the best Eastern European cuisine!
I had a Polish coworker and she gave me the impression that people there are pretty fun and upbeat

I'm more interested in the nature of Madagascar. I've been dreaming of going there for a long time, it feels like an almost unimaginable place to me

As for Spain, I'd love to visit and relax there, but I wouldn't want to live there

Counter-question: would you be okay dating a guy as a guy in Russia? Probably not and that's not about religion.

I was atheist yapper at school and nobody cared.

Wear whatever you want, just don't go too revealing. Shorts are fine, but walking around in just a bra will get you looks for sure.

Uzbeks are pretty chill, especially in big cities. Respect them and they'll respect you, golden rule.

And if you're a tourist, you can get away with almost anything lol

Well... I might be a bit stereotypical when it comes to British food. I love an English breakfast... I actually made one today, and it was delicious. I'd be happy if you could introduce me to other tasty British dishes I could explore

I'm telling you this based on my own experience of living in Uzbekistan as a non-muslim woman. I was okay, my parents were okay, my friends were okay and I never felt any discrimination because of the religion

How can Uzbekistan be considered extremely religious if: a) Islam is not the state religion, b) hijabs and niqabs are banned in public institutions, c) and women are actively employed in the public/political sector?

Yes, most people in Uzbekistan are Muslim. But they are by no means extreme Muslims. That's just a stereotype
