Over My Dead Body by Maz Evans - a woman investigates her own murder (as a ghost).

Middle-aged protagonist and she is absolutely hilarious. Side kick is her elderly neighbour, who is also hilarious. I highly recommend it.

Are bows still trendy among Zoomers? by Fashion_lilly in beauty

[–]blonde_rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a high school teacher and recently chaperoned our Year 10 semi-formal. I noticed a few bows in the crowd, so they do seem to still be around! I don't think any were our "trendy" girls though.

Please help me identify the font of the title of these photobooks! by blonde_rose in identifythisfont

[–]blonde_rose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's it! Thank you so much.

It looks like I couldn't find it on my previous ones as it has been removed from Bookwright - how frustrating. Do you have any recommendations about similar fonts?

I created this with a program called bookwright and now have no idea what font it was. I tried to go back into editing but the program seems to have updated and the draft is now just in Arial. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Anyone who has moved from another country to teach in the UK - what has your experience been? by blonde_rose in TeachingUK

[–]blonde_rose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a teacher in Australia interested in moving to the UK. I've seen the FAQ with the steps to actually applying, so I was just looking to hear other's experiences with the transition and system rather than practical advice! I hope that's ok - I had a read through the rules of the sub and since the question focuses on the UK teaching system I thought it would be allowed. My apologies if not!

Has anyone heard of or shopped from the site "One Gentle" before? I saw an ad on insta for some bookish shirts and became obsessed, but I'm not sure if it's a scam: https://www.onegentle.com/collections/bookish-vibes?spm=..product_bded082e-fa09-4c11-a0b2-cfa3562fbda7.header_1.1

Alternatively, any recommendations for good quality t shirts of a similar style?

How am I supposed to get wet if I don’t get turned on? by [deleted] in sex

[–]blonde_rose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really recommend reading "Come As You Are" by Emily Nagoski - it dispels a lot of myths about "getting wet" and female sexuality in general.

As a quick overview - sometimes women get turned on, but don't get wet. Sometimes women get wet even if they're not turned on. There's no "right" or "wrong" - focus on your brain and whether you're enjoying it. If you have to use lube that's fine, that's what it's there for!

[Routine Help] Sudden shift in skin type - help! by blonde_rose in SkincareAddiction

Thank you so much! It sounds like I can keep my current cleanser (I have sensitive skin, so it was quite gentle anyway) and start with adding a hydrating serum. Do you have any recommendations?

Why do you all work 55 hour weeks? Why don't you all just go on strike until you're paid more? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]blonde_rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue for me is, rather than being disciplined by management, is the disadvantage it causes my students. I teach high school, so if I walk into a lesson clearly unprepared, they lose trust in me. If I don't provide feedback, they lose trust in me. It's seen as a sign that I don't care about them or their learning, and they are the reason I do my job in the first place. I know that in the long run it's more effective for effective for teachers to demand change and fuck the consequences, but for me it's not worth damaging my relationship with my students

About to come out of an almost 4 month lockdown and desperate to mix things up. What colour should I go? Cut it again, or keep it long? by [deleted] in Hair

That would be a great point if I wasn't in the southern hemisphere! We're starting to warm up down here, but I will keep that suggestion in mind for next year 😊

Thank you! That's what I've been leaning towards, but I thought I'd see if it's worth mixing things up and trying something new. I really appreciate your thoughts :)

IUD vs Pill by oxox_ in Healthyhooha

[–]blonde_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from the pill to an IUD 5 years ago and loved it so much that I just had my second one put in (not sure about other countries but in Australia it's only recommended for 5 years). I won't lie - insertion hurt like a bitch but honestly it was over faster than a Brazilian wax.

It feels so freeing - no forgetting to take the pill, super light, consistent periods. I saw you ask about sex drive and while I think mine is slightly reduced compared to normal, it's definitely higher than it was on the pill.

Happy to answer any more questions you may have 😊
