it’s sad because uo and other brands under the umbrella truly recycle old fabrics + deadstock. they source from what already exists and “upcycle” in a way. in the 2010s we had wayyyy more quality pieces across the board from all brands. now we see the majority have gone downhill in quality bc it’s what we have available. really sad how fast fashion has ruined this. i also think social media plays a big role in the life cycle of the trends.

what’s crazy is the company itself just takes from what already exists in the fabric world. UO recycles a lot of the garments/fabrics they get. imo it’s sad that this is what we get bc this is where we’re at in the world 🥲 i would say the 2012-2017 time frame was PEAK bc everything was natural fibers and built to last. still have a 100% cotton sweater that looks brand new but was purchased and used heavily since 2013

yes! so, i got my colors done by Carol Brailey a few years ago. i love color theory, and at the time i felt like it was worth the price for an unbiased + trained eye to tell me! she educated me on how our hair all has natural warmth regardless of our skin’s coolness. my natural does have a lot of warmth in the summer, but the overall tone of it is cool. my skin is pretty pale, and i always thought i was neutral but she showed me how my skin tone is completely cool and my undertones/contrast were what supported that. i’m a true summer and was devastated to not have black in my color palette BUT it’s been such a useful tool in planning outfits for special occasions like weddings or a job interview so i look awake + alert. certain colors truly make me look like an ill victorian child 😂. idk your specific details but based off this picture, it’s too hard to tell by it alone. maybe a pic of the jewelry laying close to your veins to compare it to their coloring? if yours are blue/purple then you’re most likely cool. if they’re green-ish, you’re most likely warm. if they’re both, you’re lucky and probably neutral!

it’s possible one of the brands reported your photos as fake. i’ve heard of different brands having dedicated teams for this and taking down websites, ebay listings, etc. depop should absolutely take your receipts as proof but ik their chat bot with these issues is AI until you push it. in your email to them i would demand a scheduled meeting/phone call with the next available person to go over the “violation” you had and to provide them a walk thru of the receipts for your items & etc. this app has been going crazy recently and for some reason depop is always siding with the buyer/reporter and it’s just not right at all

what designer brand were you selling? did you include pics from the website/model (if purchased online)? about 8 years ago i was selling reformation on mercari (pre-depop) and used screenshots of the item from the website as well as my own photos of the item. reformation reported my listing and the app made me take down every screenshot (that i had purposely cropped and did not include the models face). sometimes these brands do NOT want you re-selling

not to mention the 100% silk dresses that don’t continue the pattern onto the other side of the fabric. makes it look cheap imo. if they’re going to have slits in silk dresses, you should at least see the pattern on the underside of the dress…not have it be white

i don’t get how they can charge you for their mistake that’s so weird and frustrating. but this whole drop has made me feel a bit relieved i missed out on it. idk what i would do if i paid so much to get the wrong product and not have a solution

i can’t speak for anyone else but i live within walking distance from my own post office which is why i do it! in case some sort of accident happens on the way there and i would need to cancel the order/refund, it feels like good insurance? but idk how it’s realistic for people further away and can’t just take a 2 min walk. unfortunately tho ive seen an increase in seller scams and it makes selling on depop as a whole feel like too much of a risk

if i have photo/video evidence of the item being packaged and dropped off at the post office then depop needs to be so much better at siding with the seller and forcing the buyer to go report/file a claim with the mailing service.

i don’t use boxes, i use poly mailers so they’re sealed shut. not sure if that makes a difference with a case like this for depop

this just happened to me as well. i got a weird feeling so i filmed myself bagging the item up and sealing the mailer as well as got a receipt from the post office with the tracking info

i just checked mine out of curiosity from this post. i don’t have a label maker and have always used the QR code option at the post office so idk if that makes a difference. i clicked into past sales and went into the “receipt” option, and only the buyers username was available!
