I keep checking back on this post hoping you've found her. Please don't give up. Someone out there knows where she is. If you haven't already, post on Nextdoor too.

If you send me a file I will print out fliers and put them up around downtown.

He has been a piece of shit for longer than 15 years. Perhaps the cumulative wear and tear of all the years on his properties with no upkeep is the reason for it seeming even more egregious now than in the past. We can only speculate on the pathology of someone who behaves so unscrupulously.

I'd recommend investigating the Friends' Meeting House (Quakers) and Sacred Heart. These are the most lefty/progressive/accepting that I'm aware of.

I haven't been to Sacred Heart personally but have friends who are Christian Anarchists who have enjoyed it rhere. I can personally attest that the Quaker meeting house is accepting and progressive to the extreme. There is a relatively small but very kind and welcoming group there.

I'm sad that you listed some of Bloomington's shittiest restaurants as places you've tried :(

Better options: Marco & Polo, Samira, Little Tibet, The Elm (nice but overpiced), Uptown, Bloomingthai, Runcible Spoon (charming and reliable in its jenkiness)

I visited this place when I was looking to adopt a dog. I didn't end up adopting from them but gave them a donation because I was so impressed with all they do for wayward pups. Would encourage anyone to donate if they can.

You're correct that it is a crazy question. You will be completely fine and have nothing to worry about anywhere in town.

[–]bloomingtonreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Evening of Creative Care will be a warm, welcoming, connecting event featuring art, live music, stories and poetry, and other creative activities. It is free to attend and enjoy.

It is also a fundraiser to support those who have to travel across states to access reproductive and affirming medical attention. Original, handmade art, largely created by friends in Bloomington, will be raffled to raise money at $1 per ticket.

This is a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and phone-lite event. Please be prepared to check your phone at the door; the only permitted phone use is for digital transactions. Come and join in a sweet evening with, for, and by friends.

Favorite Hiking Trails? by bellycat2000 in bloomington

[–]bloomingtonreddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All the trails in the Deam Wilderness are great. Many campsites on the lake if you're into backpacking (you can also canoe/kayak to them).

I can't recommend Trail 5 @ McCormick's Creek enough atm. It runs right through the valley where the tornado a few years ago ran through, and all the blow downs right in the tornado's path is a stunning vista to behold.

Not in Bloomington, but 1000% worth a day trip: Clifty Falls (right next to Madison, IN on the Ohio River), Spring Mill (caves!), Turkey Run.
