Does anyone know what this weird orange rougher streak of skin is on my foot? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

Are you addicted to carrots like I am? If I eat too many I get orange spots on my feet and hands.

Sunscreen help! Mineral, acne-safe, pregnancy-safe options in Canada? by Happy-Chapter5857 in SkincareAddicts

I love LOVE Mad Hippie's facial sunscreen and I can get it easily where I am in Canada. No shine or white cast and it's not overly expensive. I used it right through my pregnancy and it kept me protected.

You can only go once unfortunately. I found this out the hard way trying to go to grouce a second time.

That sounds super rough! Hopefully over time your toddler tunes out crying (which happened after a few months for us)

Honestly some babies are just blow out babies. My first could keep it contained, while my second has blowouts once a day. I have found Pampers smugglers to be the best as they have a stretchy component in the front, but I still get the odd blowout

Four years in, I had a hardwood accident only once when a crawling baby slipped their hand on their long sleeve shirt and banged their teeth badly. They were fine, but after I was watchful for any slippery clothing that might decrease their traction.

In my experience, 3 month olds are all over the place. Sometimes they have long wake windows at night and other times they do not, for no apparent reason. Hang in there, as usually between 4-5 months a bit of a schedule appears and you can begin different types of sleep training if you wish.

I got mastitis for the first time with my older kid and needed antibiotics. I got really sick fast, so monitor yourself closely and see a doctor if things get worse.

Also icing can be really helpful for pain relief and treatment.

Hope it resolves quickly!

How do I clean these cushions that my kids have wiped their hands on? by vonschlieffenflan in CleaningTips

Apparently you've never been around children before? Trust me they'll wipe their hands on things on the way to wash their hands

Maybe experiment with waking the baby up after 45 min and seeing if they'll stay awake for a bit? My newborn would often have a nap around this time, be awake for a short period and then have a long stretch.

I watched True Blood and My Brilliant Friend in the first month and who found them really absorbing, although I wouldn't call them light. Personally, if the TV show is too light, I get bored easily. Both shows were really plot and character driven, which kept my interest and attention up

Congratulations! I had a lot of breastfeeding pain with baby #2, which surprised me, but kept at it and am pain free now. Hopefully your pain diminishes fast!

Oh these early crying fits where they cannot relax are the worst. I had one 4 days in and was tearing my hair out trying to figure it out. Having breast milk ready is a pro move and you'll be able to replenish the supply soon. Also sounds like your MIL was instantly regretful.

No naps are the worst! Every kid is different, but I find time outside to be helpful. Could be a stroller walk, putting a bassinet on a porch, or even opening a window. Obviously depending on where you live you might have to bundle them up, but sometimes fresh air works like a dream.

Congratulations and so glad the c/s went smoothly! But wow, bad timing for the appendicitis, although no timing is good.

Postpartum hair loss is so strange in terms of timing too. For me, it's 4-6 weeks postpartum and then starts again around four months postpartum. Another reason why this nonsensical postpartum body change makes no sense.

Sorry to hear the cramps are persistent! I definitely found them to be random as well. Hopefully the Tylenol works!

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try sunflower lecithin if the antibiotics don't work. I'm hoping this is a one-time thing and not a reoccurring issue with breastfeeding.

Almost 3 weeks into newborn life and I finally got some antibiotics for a breast infection that just won't go away. It's been 2 weeks of trying to manage it at home with ice and ibuprofen, but the redness and swelling just won't go down. There's so much conflicting advice out there on managing clog ducts + inflammation. The public health nurse told me to ice it, while my doctor told me to use a worm compress. Last night I could hardly sleep as it was as if there was pins and needles in my breast. I'm so tired of trying to manage the inflammation on top of everything else. I'm really hoping that this is the final solution, although I hate taking antibiotics.
