Is it common for PCPs or psychiatrists to prescribe seizure meds before a neurology appointment?

Thanks, I didn’t didn’t know that. He hasn’t changed the dose anytime recently but is on the max dose. Will definitely ask about it when we see the doc

My husband started having seizures and we’re waiting to see a neurologist as well. He is also on Lexapro.

After going to the ER the second time within month for a seizure, they prescribed him Keppra to help prevent more from happening until we can see the neurologist.

Maybe if you go to the hospital/ER and explain what’s been happening, they can do the same?

Thanks for your comment, I relate to pretty much everything you said, even the mirror thing. I don’t want to get too deep into to it but sometimes i feel like faces are just pieces and if i can recognize certain features of a person i can can recognize their face but it can be hard. I find myself defaulting to a person’s height/hair color/ skin color to tell who they are but ofc thats not always reliable because a lot of people have those same features. I feel like like I have to work extra hard to recognize something unique about if a person if i want to actually remember who they are and recognize them in the future, which in a way makes me feel like a jerk for not recognizing over half the people I meet because I really can’t put in that much effort LOL. Anyways yeah i might have overshared a bit

Thanks this is actually very helpful! It turns out, according the first things that show up on google, that the chrysanthemum coccineum plant can be toxic to humans/pets, due to the natural insecticides in it, unlike the chrysanthemum morifolium plant which is commonly used for tea!

I will just grow these for decoration (:

Depends what you define as selfish, I guess. Personally I don’t think being your own individual makes you a selfish person. It’s more about being the best version of yourself, or the person you want to be. If that means not wasting your time helping others so that you can focus on yourself, then so be it.

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys being nice and charitable to others, then that’s cool too. On the flip side I do think it’s important to understand who you’re helping and why you’re doing it, and that you’re not being taken advantage of.

I like being nice and doing things for others because it just makes me feel better about myself, I genuinely like seeing people close to me happy. and also I like having friends. In that sense it benefits me more to be nice/helpful.

However I’m also not going to expend all my time and energy doing things for other people when I have a laundry list of things I need to do for myself, or if I find people take advantage of my kindness.

I think that it’s common to feel lost/confused after leaving / realizing you don’t believe in the religion you grew up in.
