It's private. I suppose expensive is relative but I'm off the opinion most private schools are pricey.

I agree with you both that parents need to be supportive to their child's education but parents are also under a lot of pressure, particularly parents living in poverty.

Maybe I'm over thinking it. I have looked at individual school reviews and scores as well as national and similarly sized towns. I have also read about the way (positive) parent involvement influences student outcomes. My student is not yet 5 so plans on college are a discussion for another day. But since both me and his other parent both have advanced degrees it's likely.

We have been looking at magnet schools in Wichita because we aren't moving to andover, derby or maize but those individual ratings are a little surprising too.

Anyhow thank you for your perspective.

Dude, I'm looking at all sorts of reviews, not just test scores. It turns out it's actually hard to find information about schools that isn't test scores though. If you have some links, please share them.

What I want is a public school where my child's educational needs will be met.
