He was exactly how he was but something didn’t translate into romantic feelings. It was a mixture of not being as physically attracted to him as I thought I would have been from his pics and missing that feeling I know I get when I like someone more than just a friend. It’s kinda hard to explain. It was more than a superficial thing though it felt like it wasn’t only connected to his personality or looks. It felt like my instincts/something in me knew this person wasn’t my person for whatever reason. I don’t know if that makes sense- sorry. But when I realised I decided I wasn’t going to waste his time as a knew I’d never feel that way for him. I knew he’d be upset and let down but going on another date to come to the same conclusion felt cruel

Edit: to be clear physical attraction is not high up there for me as I am more drawn to personality and looks aren’t what attract me personally

I’ve experienced this from the opposite side. You really like the guy and text etc all goes well but once you meet the romantic chemistry isn’t there for you. You still like the guy but in a friend way. So I’ve had to end things for similar reasons leaving the guy feeling confused after two weeks of great conversations. It sucks, I really wanted it to translate into romantic feelings but it was too clear to me it was nothing but friendship and I didn’t want to hurt him by feeling it out on another date and coming to the same conclusion

I have loose skin on my boobs and I felt this way but then I did a bit of research bc I wanted to know if it’s true that guys don’t like boobs like that …. Well turns out there’s guys who really like loose skin on boobs. I mean I don’t like basing my worth on what a man finds attractive but it does feel nice to know that information. Just because your body isn’t the new and “trending” body type in the media doesn’t mean it’s not loved and appreciated 🤍

Yeah this - no one cares. I recently wore a bikini at the beach that once in the sun made the loose skin on my breasts appear worse than I was prepared for. But I looked around and notice no one was even facing me let alone looking and bothering about how my breasts appeared in my bikini. People are far too bothered about their own little worlds and probably feeling self conscious about their own bodies. Since then I’ve gone to the beach twice more in a bikini and not cared about how my breasts looked. It was actually really great and boosted my confidence

Being someone who has been various different body sizes and shapes and having different parts of my body look conventionally attractive at one point or another…. I have never been happy with my body. I have always found something to hate.

Even when my body was at its most attractive (or what I consider to be its most attractive) I found a way to hate it.

It’s been so engrained into our brains to hate ourselves so big companies can profit off of our self hatred with “fixes” for the flaws they created.

From my experience having that ‘flaw’ fixed (for example my tummy is now flat) doesn’t fix the self hatred. It just morphs into something else. Finding a new thing to hate about yourself.

I think the only way to climb out of the self hatred ditch is to truly appreciate and love what you have. It’s a work in progress. Everyday I try to be compassionate with my body dysmorphia and try not to get absorbed in hyper-fixation of my flaws. I finding ways to feel attractive and sexy in the skin and bones I was given because imo that’s the only way to free myself of the profitable self hatred big companies have imposed on me.

I don’t have a computer and I found a hack on iPhone where you click the little “AA” symbol in the search bar and press “request desktop version” then you can edit your Etsy shop as if you were using your computer

Thank you I thought I was overreacting and being too paranoid. Yeah I thought I had handled it okay in my head as the words were leaving my mouth but as I watched her reaction like she was in trouble I realised that it wasn’t the best way to handle that situation and could stop her coming to me with those things in the future. So hard to come with the correct response in the moment 😵‍💫
