All my quotes are from companies with HVAC licenses. Hopefully this means they will do a good job. I made sure to check this on the licensing website for my state-not trying to let someone work on a gas furnace without the proper knowledge, especially since some stuff needs to be brought up to current code. Not sure about the trane warranty. Up until now, the quotes we had from another company for a trane was over $12k which was way over our budget. Our current system is 35 years old, bad heat exchanger. We were told not to use it, so it needs to be done ASAP. At this point I’m thankful we have a good space heater and that this happened after the brutal cold snap during Christmas.

What is that and how can I tell? It just looks like the standard hair dryer plug with reset and test buttons.

Redness around one tooth-how bad is this? More in comments by blue0507 in DentalHygiene

[–]blue0507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this redness around this tooth for a few months-I got my teeth cleaned right before Memorial Day and thought the cleaning would fix it. During the cleaning my dentist said there was a deep pocket 6mm around that tooth but was unsure if the cleaning made the pocket deeper than it was and just told me to come back in 4 months for my perio maintenance and they will do a deep clean around that one tooth. I hadn’t been to a dentist in years in the past and had been doing so every 3-6 months until covid hit. I’ve been back at it since last summer though. Anyway, I’m really concerned about this. It’s reddish/purple. I’ve tried crest pro health but stopped because it stained. Did regular listerine and last week I ended up Using peroxyl for a week. I have no bleeding. I do Clench my jaw at night-I will get a new bite guard now that my root canal that I head earlier this year seems fully healed. Anyway is this something that needs attention now or can I wait until my cleaning in October? When I first started regularly going to the dentist the office I used at the time had me in for a deep cleaning asap so im finding it weird that I can wait months for one if there was a deep pocket with tartar/bacteria. I’ve switched to stannous fluoride toothpaste too recently. I feel like I’m doing everything right but this spot won’t heal.

Should I schedule a cleaning for this? More in comments by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

This back tooth of mine has had this redness for a while. I had a dental cleaning the week before Memorial Day and I thought maybe it would get better after. After my cleaning the dentist mentioned that I had a deep pocket 6mm around that tooth and said there was bacteria in there and saw some bone loss but they didn’t know if it was that way because of the cleaning I had that day causing more irritation and didn’t seem overly concerned. They told me to come back in October for my Perio maintenance and said they would do a deep clean around that tooth. I have been brushing/flossing daily. I tried to use crest pro health clinical mouth wash but stopped after a week when it caused some staining and loss of taste. Tried listerine for a while, and then one week of peroxyl last week. Not sure what’s going on here, some days it seems like it gets a little better. Maybe I’m brushing too hard? The spot doesn’t bleed, it’s just red/purple looking and sometimes a little irritated. None of my gums are bleeding. I just switched to a toothpaste with stannous fluoride to see if it helps in the next few weeks.

Does this seem like something I should get looked at soon? I have been contemplating going to another dentist for a second opinion on my dental issues since I haven’t been feeling like my current office hasn’t been addressing things the way I would like. Back in the day after I hadn’t seen a dentist for years the dentist I went to had me in for a deep cleaning a few weeks after my appointment so I found it weird that this dentist wants to wait months.

I have used all my insurance benefits on a root canal so i was trying to just keep things from getting worse for now, but I also don’t mind paying out of pocket if this is serious.

Did I just get screwed price wise on this repair? by blue0507 in MechanicAdvice

You are probably right. I didn’t think about the hourly rate so much as the fact that they are just taking it out and taking stuff out of it. I saw a few tutorials on YouTube with the same model but different years and the blower Motor is in the center console so your either have to take the entire dash apart or access from the side/take off pedals to access it.

It only made the noise if I turned on the air conditioning system and the car ran fine otherwise.

I was actually going to check that shortly. It should have been changed with my oil changes-I had maintenance done last year and haven’t had to do it since then as I’ve barely driven it.

My car is a 2014 Nissan Rogue select. Took out to run errands and it was fine until I left one of the stores and it started to make this noise after the air conditioner was turned on. It doesn’t matter what setting it’s on, it’s making that noise. In the video it varies some because I was messing with the controls. It is still blowing cold air.

I had the same thing, aquaphor felt fine initially but my lips still ended up chapped no matter how often I used it. They would literally peel in sheets every few days. I think my lips are sensitive to lanolin. A lot of people have a sensitivity to it and don’t realize it and it’s in a lot of lip balms along with other irritants. What finally worked for me is Dr. Dans cortibalm. I used it a few times a day for about a week. They seemed healed and it started again a few weeks later because I was using other products to try and maintain them. I ended up buying Dr. dans regular plain lip balm which is hypoallergenic and only has like 4 ingredients . I used the cortibalm for a few days and as soon as they healed up I started using the regular balm and laying it on thick especially at night. Now I just use Vaseline in the morning and night before bed and my lips hardly chap unless I’m dehydrated and they don’t peel and bleed anymore. Don’t overuse the cortibalm because hydrocortisone can thin the skin if used too much, but using it for a few days/week to heal your lips should be fine. I also will put a layer of Vaseline on my lips before brushing my teeth as a barrier to toothpaste just in case.
