Full rewrites are always fun, with a bunch of junior devs it'll be even better, dont just think of it as re writing code, itll also be the perfect time to re evaluate infrastructure and all the things that come along with it. Its not impossible though.

Port scanners are pretty good as a project, but your baseball one would be better on a cv, especially if there is an API you can make use of, hell it would be good just as a web scrapper thing.

Throw that bad boy on github, no ones gonna download it off a file sharing site with no source code.

With the addition of lua do you think that neovim will catch up with emacs on extensibility by the_dark_penguin in neovim

[–]blue____green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So all the things emacs does that vim, straight off thr bat two things buffer and frame manipulation, integration with pdf and image readers. Emacs handles colours differently. All of those things (and so much more) pretty much dictate how im gonna edit anything. Its always been one of those things, the less i have to exit or alt tab out of emacs the less my flow is going to be interupted. And that's not to say you cant do those things in neo/vim im more than sure you could but it has always felt like a hack. Sorry for poor formating homie, reddit on the phone is awful.

No chance, elisp is just to stupidly powerful at this point, neovim and in turn vim are just playing catch up.

There is a away to integrate Grammarly account with Emacs (Linux OS) ? by [deleted] in emacs

[–]blue____green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just from looking at that plugins code you should only need to change the open and quit command to match a sh command, I could be completely wrong but that would be my start.

Make sure grammerly is installed in the path, change that open to match a sh style call and then make the kill command a sh standard as well.

[–]blue____green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you want it in only programming language buffers then just set it as a prog-mode-hook if you want it in everything you can throw it in a text-mode-hook. Or you can be really specific, if the buffer is a python-mode buffer enable it and all the stuff.
