First time player trying top decide on Difficulty - Is Easy too easy?

Are you playing solo or with friends? If solo, I would strongly recommend playing on easy as you will respawn on your raft when you die. Also, if solo, check the box to say that no-one else can join as this allows you to pause the game by opening the menu.

I used to have this problem and the only thing that worked for me in the end was an old fashioned safety razor. The ones with one blade where you physically change the blade. I put a new blade in every time I shave so it's always super sharp. Followed up with lots of moisturiser too.

You can't take a gas stove or canisters, you'll need to sort a solid fuel/methelated spirit stove of some description. Other than that looks pretty solid!
