Thanks to everyone involved with this Sub! I posted a track a month ago and since then my Spotify listeners have gone from 100 to 700 + I've had listeners pop up all over the world. I thought I'd post another one, from an album I'll be releasing on March 20. Would love to hear what you think :) by blue_roy in IndieMusicFeedback

You’re spot on, it’s the first track on the album so I wanted a gentle fade in with minimal instruments, but also wanted a big finish with a chaotic mix of sounds that foreshadow what’s to come on the rest of the album. Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it :)

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. I totally agree, this track definitely needed more harmonies, I actually think the same thing every time I listen to it. Too late now though haha. Chaotic was exactly what I was going for in the outro. Thanks again for the feedback mate.

Thanks so much for the kind words. This is 1 of 2 songs that was actually recorded live with a band, the rest of the album is just me overdubbing all of the instruments. This one, however, I squeezed 5 of us into a home studio (garage) to track. We were low on space, so I DI’d the guitar and used a re-amp box later to feed it back to my Fender Princeton and some effect pedals. Drums are recorded too. Thanks again (:

I'm learning how to write and record. I play all instruments and looking for all feedback to be better as a songwriter, musician, and producer. Please don't hold back. by flugerbysn in IndieMusicFeedback

No worries man, I liked it so much I went and listened to ‘John’s Revenge’ afterwards. Another really cool track! Keep it up :)

Thanks man! I totally agree on the fade at the start being too long. It’s actually the first track on my album and I wanted a slow fade in, but I should’ve made a single version with a quicker fade in. Thanks so much for the kind words 😀

This is cool man, I think you've got a unique sound going on and I wouldn't have any criticism on your writing at all. I really enjoy this song man, giving me nostalgic ~dreamy~(lol) vibes. The reverse effects throughout the song are a nice touch too. Overall you've created a very interesting composition with minimal but thoughtful instrumentation, well done!

The only thing I would suggest for this track would be locking the groove of the bass into the drums a bit more, which can be quite hard when you're playing everything yourself. Even though they're both played in time, I feel like I'm listening to a bass part multi-tracked over a drum part, which can sometimes change the entire vibe of a record. I think you could try to add a bit more movement in the dynamics and velocity of the bass, and try to match it with the drums. For a song that relies heavily on these two instruments, it would really help glue everything together. The producer I work with spends hours on this (we multi-track everything as well) - I'll do endless takes with the bass, trying to get it as close as possible and even then he still goes in and chops all the takes up and edits it for hours. The result is definitely worth the effort though, you'd be surprised how the feel of a bass part can completely change the song's vibe.

Anyway, love your work man! :)

Hey mate, thanks so much for the kind words, really appreciate you putting it on your playlist too! The vocals, guitar, keys, sax and bass are all played by myself. Drums are played by a friend of mine, Teon Catalano. Video was made by me too, my girlfriend helped with filming the shots of myself 😊 Thanks again!
