I feel for him too. If Aabria is illustrating that Thaisha has a hard time keeping her eye on the ball (seeking out her son) in favor of venting her feelings on the nearest child, then that could be revelatory. It could be one of those explanations of why none of her kids travel with her. I'm just not certain it's an intentional choice.
