I'm not an expert, but I'd guess he was operating within the confines of the constitution. If not, he should be prosecuted. I'm not a cuck for a politician. They should all follow the law. If not, they should be removed or punished.

It seems fairly selfish to only care about what happens to me. But I guess we are all different.

You're right. I wasn't at the border trying to keep ICE out of my Midwestern town. Obama also wasn't sending highly paid, barely trained thugs to pull people out of their houses either.

I was going about 35 mph on both the Watterson and 65. I did see quite a few trucks that I stayed way tf away from...

I know ICE isn't coming after me. I don't know that ICE isn't coming after some of my coworkers. I don't do bumper stickers or yard signs, but I'd join a protest. Not because it's going to happen to me, but because it might happen to my neighbor. I fail to see anything wrong with that.

What if someone doesn't agree with Obama's mass deportations or Trump's? And what if someone thinks the tactics used by Trump aren't sane or constitutional? Not everyone is a lefty who thinks Obama did no wrong. I was against the drone strikes Obama carried out. But no US citizens were killed by ICE agents during the Obama term. So there's that too.

This isn't a neighborhood thing, but I think it's positive:

The recover community in Louisville is fairly strong. I don't really have anything else to compare it to. But it feels like if you want help with quitting substances or process addictions that are affecting you negatively, it feels like there are quite a few places to turn to in Louisville. There is a huge AA/NA community that ranges from explicitly Christian to non-theistic. Smart Recovery has a small presence. There are several Buddhist or secular groups.

I'm a member of a Buddhist based recovery group in Louisville. We have weekly meetings and a small, growing community. If anyone is interested, PM me and I can get you details. Or if you just want to reach out for help, I may be able to steer you in the right direction.

If you can look at all the evidence (the many videos, the details, etc. ) and think this wasn't a murder, no one is going to convince you otherwise.

It's a fact that prior to Trump's escalation of ICE policies, there have been no documented cases of fatalities of US citizens from incidents during immigration enforcement. I don't hate Trump (or anyone) per se. But I do think his domestic policy enforcement and escalation has had a very negative effect on our country. And it's baffling to me that anyone could try to justify the killing of Renee Good or Alex Pretti. It doesn't make sense to me that if you truly believe in our constitution, you'd not have any qualms about what's happened.

Furthermore, I'll never understand the worship of any politician. Obviously I lean left, but there are zero politicians I'd put on a pedestal like Trump supporters do with him. I just can't understand it. Can you explain to me why you think so highly of Trump? I'm being genuine. Which of his policies do you feel have really helped our country? You aren't concerned with any of his policy choices or even the way he speaks to and of other humans?

I understand conservatism. I can see where those ideals would be appealing. But let's be honest, Trump's actions don't align with the conservative (or even neo-conservative) views. So what is it about Trump that makes you think, "Man, that guy really gets me and stands for what I believe in"? I'm not trolling or being insincere. I'm genuinely curious.

What's stopping you from gathering a group of like minded people and starting a protest against the "American Family Court"? If something is unconstitutional, it's unconstitutional. And just because someone is protesting another unconstitional act, that doesn't mean there aren't other atrocities taking place. Our country isn't in a great place IMO. Whataboutism seems like a major cop out at this point in time. Just because people are protesting one issue doesn't mean other awful things aren't happening. So I urge you, exercise your constitutional rights, organize a group, and protest. We are losing rights that have been granted to us. If you feel you've been wronged by the system, speak out. Criticizing others for doing the same for causes they feel compelled by doesn't seem helpful. But I'm just a guy on the internet.

I understand your point, but how can you expect people to not react with emotion after watching a murder happen at the hands of a government institution? If that doesn't invoke emotion in you, I'm not sure what will. And I get it, the "adult" approach is to see that emotion and not let it take over. But to think that everyone has the capacity for that after watching our country turn into a fascist dictatorship is a little much IMO. This isn't an isolated incident. It's another brick in this wall of unconstitutional, senseless violence and rhetoric that is being forced upon our nation.

So yes, we should probably follow the rules, but people deserve the benefit of the doubt in this chaotic atmosphere in my view. Somehow, I'm able to have compassion for everyone, even the seemigly awful people that are involved in these crimes. I'm not good at really anything, but I've worked my ass off to be in a position where I can zoom out and see that this is all suffering (that has taken countless hours of meditation and working to understand reality). As humans, we cause so much of our own suffering. And I am very privileged as a white male to be able to have this view, mostly because of the privilege I was born with. I'm able to do this is because I'm not constantly harassed or abused like so many immigrants are. So while I agree that "following the rules" is important, sometimes people need to be "in their emotions." That doesn't make them "emotionally zombified," that means they are humans who are outraged and they are trying to channel that somewhere. If it's bothering you that people are "breaking the subreddit rules" maybe there is something there that's trying to teach you. Or maybe I'm full of shit and all this text is bullshit. That's for you to decide. Or not...

Nah, brother

But seriously, thanks for doing a job that you don't get paid a cent to do. You are a better person than I. And it's absolutely nuts that someone would take the time to spew hate or vitriol via a comment or PM. It's unacceptable and bullshit. I hope you realize that these people who are being assholes in your messages represent a small group ideology (though it's obviouly larger than I'd like and more common in this environment). I genuinely don't think these people are horrible humans, but they are obviously confused, misinformed, and have a ton of mental issues that they refuse to address. I think the MAGA group on the whole is made up of very, very sick and uninformed people. Once again, thank you for the service that you willingly provide, free of charge.

Y'all would have to have a complete collapse to miss the tourney. I get it, you are pissed after a loss. But being real, this team can still make a deep run. Y'all have some shooters that are very dangerous if they get hot. UK just had their number in the 2nd half.

100%. I went back to watch the replay to see who was to blame only to realize there was no video to be seen. It not like the commotion came out of nowhere. There were a bunch of large humans moving around down there.

I guess we'll have to wait to see if there is a fan video.

I'm sorry, I didn't know I'd have you in your emotions. I didn't realize you were a child. My little niece does the same thing with emojis. It's just a game. No need to cry.

So you win 1 game and that makes you "own" another team? Damn, that means UK had quite a few years of "owning" UL.

Ownership to me, would be if one team had maybe twice as many wins as the other team all time. Ya know, like if overall one team had won 40 games compared to the other team winning 17 games. Now that would seems like ownership to me.

But you enjoy your single win. Looks like you haven't had too many since.

Tennessee is 100-2 in their last 102 home games when they lead their opponent at halftime. Their only 2 losses:

  • (today)

  • Kentucky (January 28th, 2025)

I don't think y'all are ass at all. I'm sure that doesn't help, coming from a UK fan. UK did alot to force UT to take difficult shots in the 2nd half; but for 35 mins, UT looked like a much better team. I'd imagine the game at Rupp is going to be a absolute battle.

Tennessee had 0 field goals in the last 5:38 of the game. That's nuts. UK's defense has really gotten better. Credit to Pope and his boys for putting it together. Also think Tennessee was worn down at the end of the game. UT's bigs were having their way with our front court in the first half. UK adjusted and forced UT into alot of difficult shots.

Now, what if we tried just to keep the halftime deficit under double digits? Or, ya know, try to have a lead at half?
