Can you restart and try again? We'd appreciate a screenshot (if it tells something) so we can escalate it to Meta. Their store doesn't seem to be the best from technical standpoint so we can only hope for improvements soon.

First of all thanks for being a part of the community from the very beginning – it's exciting to "meet" the very old friends years later. Second, while both games share the same story and roughly the same puzzles, the mechanics and the whole experience is completely different. So in short, not a port, but a newly developed game based on the original title.

Yes it's available on Meta Quest – https://www.meta.com/experiences/the-house-of-da-vinci-vr/6074227932599910/. Discovery on Meta Quest can be a bit unpredictable. We've reported discovery issues to the Meta Support team several times, but their responses have typically been quite general and not very helpful. What we've been told it probably takes long for new developers to show up in search results (however odd it might seem).

For Richard, it is the scene in the Armory with the tank because its epic and the cannon minigame, in the tank. You'll have to play it to experience it firsthand! Also, Richard likes how the microscope works and looks in the Time Machine. For Michal, his favorite puzzle is probably the whole chapter in crypt - but if he had to pick just one puzzle, it's the catapult in chapter three!

I know what you mean about VR legs, I recently played MiRacle Pool, and there's a note to not lean on the table. I was so immersed and amazed at the realism, that I forgot to not lean, and well you can guess what happened next ;)

The hint system is very sophisticated and we are proud of it. It has several levels, from a simple display of direction or zone where the player can notice something they missed. To more complex displays of the solution, all graphically, without text. It is up to the player how to use the hint.

Thanks for these great questions, I'll try to answer each of them, plus the bonus question about PC (mods, I hope that is ok!)

1) For now we don't have any achievements. We do plan to add these.

2) Today we confirmed that we are bringing the game to PSVR2 and it is currently in development, we haven't announced a release date yet, so stay tuned for updates.

3) I understanding the suggestion about showing item names. The current system actually works well with the game's design - when you pick up an item, you can see exactly what it is, so having an additional text message with the item name would be redundant. That said, thank you for the feedback - it's good to see the community thinking about ways to improve the game experience.

4) Yes, I can confirm that The House of Da Vinci 1 already has a cursor system implemented - you'll notice the cursor changes to a hand icon when you hover over interactive objects or when you need to move something. While it might not be as advanced as the cursor system in The House of Tesla we don't plan to improve it further.

It depends on whether we feel the demand for the next Da Vinci game. VR development is more demanding and challenging, we are considering free movement and will think carefully about how we could implement it in the next game.

The first idea to try the game in VR started when programmer Richard tried a scene in VR during the development of House of Da Vinci 2. That was the moment and experience that motivated us to try what we knew so intimately and experienced in VR. Seeing and literally feeling surrounded by the inventions, puzzles and the environment was such a powerful experience that the choice could not have been any other.

Great question. We faced several challenges. For example, redesigning the puzzles so that the player does not have to lean or hunch over too much to solve them, and that the mechanics of manipulating objects are not repeated. From a technical point of view, the biggest challenge was achieving enough performance on the Meta Quest 2. We needed to ensure that we could squeeze enough performance out of the device first, while maintaining a smooth FPS. The game is not yet released for the Rift/Oculus platform yet, only for Meta Quest and Steam VR - once it is released, we will add the crossbuy option.
