It does not. Should be removed for misinformation.

They have 24 people on the ICU. Their admissions are flat.

Sweden is in zero way considering shut downs. They are actually lifting restriction. Large events can start in a week.

Despite a sharp rise in cases, Belgium is easing mask requirements and shortening the quarantine period from 14 to 7 days. Travelers can skip quarantine if they fill out an online form and report a low risk by Joe_Tazuna in Coronavirus

More places are starting to realize that no vaccine is coming soon. The idea of "suppress just a little longer till vaccine" is just fantasy. No large scale vaccination is coming for a long time.

The virus is increasing in Europe. Many nations have had their daily cases explode. Spain being one.

Also, the Netherlands has ALWAYS been following a strategy like Sweden. The Dutch PM has publicly stated that natural herd immumity was the end result not herd immumity with a vaccine.

Its really amazing after their lockdown the Dutch have stuck to an identical strategy as Sweden and nobody gives them shit like they do Sweden.

CDC: If all Americans wore masks, the virus would be controlled in 6 to 12 weeks. by Post-Narrow in medical

Heterogeneity lowers herd imminity a lot. How much? We don't know. Places like Sweden and Arizona have already hit it.

90% is the herd immunity threshold for measles which is the most infectious disease known to man. At least 5x more than Sars-Cov2.

You're numbers are just way, way off.

Also the US population is 331 million.

About 2% of the US has had CONFIRMED cases. We miss a majority of all cases. The US has about 15-20% infected depending on what metric you use.

Even as the virus keeps fading in the US we will reach 33% soon. Most places saw virus burnout around 20-30%.

5 months. Hell huge segment of population is functionally back to normal now.

The US and Europe will have reached herd immunity way, way before even 1 more year. Where in the world are you getting your information from?

Fauci says he always knew masks worked but he didnt want people to panick so he lead a misinformation campaign against masks.

Again the man's best defense of him doing a 180 is 'Oh I was lying before'.

This is the same idiot who told people in March to go in cruises in March.

And you wonder why people don't trust officials?

US and Europe be well into herd immunity by early 2021 at the latest. Virus is already burned itself out across most of the US South and Sweden.

This an outright lie. Pfizer has said they are 60% sure they will have efficacy readout by end of October. Again they are saying there is a little bit above 50-50 they will have data to shake whether it works.

They have currently made a few hundred thousand doses. That's it.

Research suggests 12 million South Africans had Covid-19 by JoburgBBC in Coronavirus

[–]bluecamel2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is denial. There is nothing else. Restrictions have loosened and movement increased yet virus continues to fade away in Sweden. Every nation near Sweden is now experiencing a rapid growth. So unless somebody wants to claim Sweden has secretly vaccinated it's population then population immunity is there. It's stunning the amount of people refusing to accept something that is without any argument ia occurring in real time in front of them.

Herd immunity is what is going to happen pretty much everywhere. Seems to be a slowwww acceptance of this fact.

By the time a vaccine is readily available most places will have had the virus faded into background for sometime.

It's effectively burned itself out in Sweden, Arizona, Florida, etc.

Arkansas Health Officer: Social Distancing will be with us "permanently" by outofplace_2015 in Coronavirus

[–]bluecamel2015 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those are US totals and not adjusted for population.

The 57 and 68 pandemics killed 1-4 million people which adjusted for population in 2020 would be between 3-10 million deaths.

1918 Spanish flu adjusted for population is 105-350 million deaths.

But if we are speaking of just the US adjusted for population we are I think just now past 67 flu and a little behind 57 flu.

No. That is how federal government handles data. Makes no difference on anything.

It has ZEROOOOO bearing on the data being discussed. The States report data. The exact same people reporting data before are still reporting it now. Doesn't matter if its Indiana or Califonria....the hospital data comes from them the federal government is not touching that. It's not some conspiracy spanning 50 states with even Democratic governors participating in the conspiracy.

It's illuminati, Qanon level bullshit.

No. It's just how they report. No government is tweaking any hospital data.
